Yankee Peddlers Tea Room — Restaurant in Osage Beach

We went to the tea room 2 days in a row. We had the chicken salad on top of a tomato with fruit and a small muffin. It was perfect for lunch. Each day we had a great waitress. On the second day we had a young waitress that did a great job. Unfortunately, we heard an older lady that worked their just talk terrible to the young waitress in front of the restaurant and then talked hateful to an older gentleman that also worked their. If we would have not already ordered we would have left the restaurant because of the way this lady spoke to the employees. I was angry to find out from another customer that the old lady was the owner. She was talking terrible to one of her own employees and the older gentleman was her husband that she was talking terrible to.

The owners have been doing this for almost fifty years, and that paired with the strategic business hours and the care they put into it has resulted in each dish being expertly prepared. The little details are so well thought out, delicately plated, and the flavors are amazing. All the tea is delicious, and the chocolate cake is unexpectedly unique. I tried some lemon meringue pie off of my dad's plate, and I usually hate lemon meringue, but it was so good!! The meringue part held up it's consistency while also being soft and light, as well as sweet and creamy. And that's just one example! The atmosphere is so dainty and cute and the people are very hardworking and welcoming. My whole family felt very comfortable there even though we usually don't feel at-home in cute fancy places. Absolutely would recommend, and leave a good tip!...

This is a true hidden gem! Today was my first time here. It was really busy but we were seated right away. The menu is much bigger than I was expecting for such a small place. I ordered a hot blueberry tea to start and it was very flavorful! For lunch my husband ordered the Sampler (soup, salad & 1/2 sandwich) Osage Turkey sandwich and chicken dumpling soup. I ordered the Sampler Great White Tuna melt and stuffed green pepper soup. The portions are perfect, the food is unique and delicious.
