I am not the type to leave bad reviews but what this place has in food, it lacks in customer service. We had a family breakfast planned after Christmas and the hostess seated our group only to come back a berate them because we had two more people joining, of which she was told about in advance but didn’t take note. She was incredibly rude to the group and accused them of simply following her to a table (not actually being seated). So instead of owning a simple gaffe on her part, she blamed them and was extremely out of line.
Then when we spoke with a manager, the hostess/waitress looked on and muttered comments while we were told that’s their rules, that’s their rules, that’s how they do business.
I’ve worked in customer service much of my life and I own and operate a successful service-oriented business in Springfield. I grew up at the lake , though, and that’s why we chooses to come here. Needless to say, we won’t be back. We had a large family of eight looking forwards to this today, but business that is that rigid, rude and ungrateful towards their customers when they make a mistake (the business, that is), is a poor one. In my experience, patrons care as much about being treated kindly and with respect as they do about the actual product or service they are paying for, especially in restaurants. This was incredibly disappointing.
Here’s hoping attitudes change at the Pancake House. ...
Read moreWe went there recently with my young daughter who has Celiac disease. She can't eat gluten or wheat and cross contamination issues in the kitchen could make her very sick and cause damage to her small intestine. I called ahead and spoke to the Kitchen Manager to confirm that they had Gluten free pancakes and wanted to discuss their cross contamination guidelines for their kitchen. He was extremely helpful on the phone and confirmed they do have GF pancakes and that they prepare and cook them in a separate area of the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. When we ate there, she was still able to get a kids breakfast meal with Gluten free chocolate chip pancakes! She also got the eggs and bacon with the meal. The Kitchen Manager came out and confirmed with us that he personally cooked her meal to make sure it was safe for her and that they take this very seriously. We were so impressed and surprised by the level of professionalism and kindness by him! We will definitely go there every time we...

Simply one of THE best places to eat breakfast, at the lake. The food is consistently good, the service is always friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you receive.
The pancakes are delicious, and the syrup is served warm. The omelets are my husband's favorite, and they would be incredible, IF they had some homemade salsa on the side. There is an option to buy a tiny bowl of "pico de gallo" (chopped tomatoes and onions), but homemade salsa should be on every table. Call me, I have an excellent recipe.😁
The place has been remodeled and is bigger & more spacious, but do come early like the locals do, or be prepared to wait.
There are many places to eat around the lake, this is the only place to bring your family that won't kill your wallet and everyone will leave...
