I have been looking forward to coming here for years and have heard many wonderful things so maybe I had too many expectations or maybe the fact that it was New Year's Eve and maybe they weren't as prepared as they should have been but we left disappointed. Our visit started out wonderfully. My daughter and I arrived on New Year's Eve not sure if we could even get a table but the hostess greeted and seated us immediately. We decided to place an order for the cheese curd risotto cakes which they were out of but completely understandable, it happens. Just means we need to try something else. We decided on the bistro fries and they were delicious so we weren't disappointed at all. Unfortunately I can't say that for the rest of the dining experience. I had ordered a glass of Hell Yeah Zinfandel which was pleasant until I got a mouthful of dregs. Which would explain why it took so long to get this glass of wine because they must of emptied one bottle and needed to open the other. Some dregs are fine but this was clearly the bottom of the bottle. Still not a big deal, they're busy, I can understand. In the meantime the table next to us gets their meal of which one of them ordered the smoked salmon blt sandwich which came on a toasted baguette and looked delicious. My daughter was very excited because this is what she ordered. Unfortunately it's not what she got. Her smoked salmon BLT came out on a brioche bun not looking or tasting anywhere near her expectations (the bread can make or break a sandwich). When I questioned the waitress about it not being the right bread she stated "you mean the brioche?" acting like I don't know what brioche is and that was the bread the sandwich came on. Maybe they ran out of baguettes but they should be honest and let us know so we can either change or order or expect something else. Hindsight I should have insisted for a menu and pointed it out. Needless to say my daughter was disappointed. I ordered the the drunken shrimp pasta which was lukewarm at best, beyond al dente noodles and quite bland. Not sure we'll be back. We usually give restaurants another chance. We know everyone has their off days, but the not being honest about the sandwich was off putting and we're not sure if...

Also, just had my first burger there on a gluten free bun of course, as i am a Celiac and eating gluten free is a medical diet for me. They do the gluten free buns right and the burger is worth going again for... Very tasty. Upping their stars by one.
*Revising the review - we have been there several times since the first review. The first few times it was great there. Food was good, service, and the place in general. We liked to sit in the front where the bar is at, sitting at the high top tables. We have stopped going as often due to the fact that they continuously are doing things that are NOT improvements. Matter of fact this last modification is something that kind of upset me and we almost left when we saw it, but at that point we were too hungry to walk out. They have changed their hightop tables from regular tables to these HUGE Barrel tables. Where this might not bother lots of folks, for me, I really hate having to straddle these things, or having to sit sideways to eat. I am short and have short legs. I don't really like the other rooms in this place because they are dark and uninviting. I miss the way the place was months ago and it will be a long time before I go back. We will no longer frequent the place. The time before they put the barrels in, there was one short table by the door, yes...they sat us there. It was the only table like that and when the door opened, people walked in - they were right on you. Plus it was pretty cold by the door. (Then next time we came I had to deal with that huge barrel). I don't know what these folks are doing, but so far it hasn't been improving, just chasing us away!
*Old review - Did well on the gluten free angle. Excellent service. Food was great! No gf deserts though. Nice quiet place when we were there. Wonderful...
Read morePreviously, our experience with food at Pour! in Otsego was off the charts fabulous. This last visit at the Otsego location, there were several issues. Before getting into those issues I want to mention that the atmosphere was inviting, the waitstaff for our table was attentive and kind, and the wine was excellent. The issues: Cost vs. portion size with some of the dinner choices, and quality in preparation. We understand costs are up but some patrons portions were rather small for the price paid. That being said we have no issue paying the price for good food especially if the quality matches the cost. As far as portion size, that too could have been a bit more generous with a couple of the dinners considering cost. The Filet Mignon at a cost of $33.95 was bitter on the outside due to grill/carbon debris. The filet was ordered rare and was slightly overdone on the inside. Once past the outer part of the filet, it was excellent in flavor and cut making the first bites of bitterness extra disappointing and felt a bit of a waste of a good cut of meat. The Pork Plate at a cost of $27.95 was tasty but it was small portions with a large pile of fries in the middle. The Truffle Mac & Cheese at $18.95, was very tasty and was a fair portion for the cost. One of the evening specials was Ahi Tuna Steak which was overdone and tough when it was ordered rare. The waitstaff offered up a new tuna portion at which point that order was still frozen in the center which means that it was being cooked from a frozen, not thawed, state. We were not charged for the tuna, but it was an inconvenience. Ultimately, the appetizer, Drunken Shrimp replaced the tuna. The Drunken Shrimp appetizer at $16.95 was very tasty, a fair portion, and that left us wondering if we would ever order anything but wine and appetizers the next...
