Cactus Grill — Restaurant in Overland Park

We called a day a head to make a reservation for party of 20 adults + 8 kids for Sunday at 3pm, at first lady on the line said they dont take reservation until I mentioned how many people , however the manager was able to handle it by taking our deposit which understanable and we told them we will be in for early dinner which was about 3pm Sunday. The server and other staff were able to handle our orders perfectly and for handling our large crowd nicely, food and drinks were great, it was my wife BD. Some of our friends and family left right after they were done eating, so we moved to smaller tables as dinner crowd started coming in around 6pm, but we were still drinking and hanging out. I had to deduct 1 star coz after we ate this happened....they asked us if we were still using the tables that we are sitting, which we had given 3 tables out of 6 back already to them and all who were left gathered in one corner occupied about 12 seats I felt like they wanted us to leave as soon as we were done eating and not hanging out afterward, but we still called more round of shots and drinks not like we were just sitting around. Bartender some how seemed unhappy with us for taking all his glasses? LOL.

We hadn't been to Cactus Grill in a very long time, so we decided to go tonight. It was a different experience that's for sure. The food was great! The service (the entire team)was a one star. We interacted with two managers, three servers and two hosts) If you all want these kids to succeed you need to TRAIN them properly. Think of it as an investment. I expected to be called bruh at anytime by our server, Will. I could not believe what we heard and saw. To Meredith - be a team player. When a guests asks you for something get it! They may not be your guest tonight, but may sit in your section on their next visit. Trust me they will remember how you helped or did not help them out. I asked three people for a tea refill. Five minutes later Will brings it. So the manager and two servers went to Will to get my refill. Where's the team here guys? Lastly, to the hostesses dancing table side you should probably keep this at the host stand. I honestly think with a little training your staff could be top notch. Come on Cactus Grill help these...

Service was amazing!! We went right before rush hour so seating us wasn’t a problem. I’ve been craving birra tacos for awhile now and caught them on the menu just in time to place my order. Sadly, I wish I had stuck with my first choice which was fajitas. The tacos were burnt (I don’t mind a little dark, but not on both sides and for both tacos… it just ruined the taste no matter what I dipped them in, and scraping/picking it off felt extreme and would ruin it) and it was just way to salty. The rice was also a bit salty for me and some grains felt undercooked. I gave it all I could, but barely finished one. I’ve had home made and authentic birra before and this was the first time I wasn’t able to finish it. Overall, would I come back? Sure. Will I devour the chips, salsa and margaritas? Absolutely.
