Whataburger — Restaurant in Overland Park

WHAT'S THE ALL THE FUSS ABOUT A WHATABURGER? Jeeminy....Patrick Mahomes opened a few of these places around the area and this is the one I tried. First! Really excellent ingress and egress. Just spectacular! The place is SPOTLESS. The clerk (Cynthia) was exceptionally helpful and guided me through the ordering process. I ordered a whataburger meal (single burger, no cheese, medium fries and medium drink). Their burgers come with onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and mustard. If you want anything else it'll happen! In fact, Cynthia asked me if I wanted anything else! SWEET! The buns are toasted-amazing! I love this! Nice to bite into a crunchy bun and savor a smoky meat taste! One of the best fast food burgers I've ever had. The fries are a bit disappointing. Kinda limp but only because I like mine crispy. It was 3 minutes to get my food which I feel is super fast. The burger though was really good. Very juicy (not overcooked at all like some fast food places) and all the ingredients topping it were in perfect sync-nothing overpowering each other. The service is extremely slow, even for online orders. We've tried a few different times ordering online at the 159th Overland Park location and arriving at the end time of the time given for the order to be ready, to wait in the curbside area an additional 15-20 minutes for the order. A couple of times we went inside to find out what was going on with our order to find no one at the counter. When finally acknowledged the workers are slow and nonchalant about getting the order completed and give the comment 'we're waiting on... to complete your order'. When that comment is made, you would think your food would be hot. We live 5 minutes from the 159th location. Each of the last 3 times our food was all cold. Fast food restaurants suck. Besides Chick-Fila, I will not patronize them as usually the quality of food and especially the service is consistently disappointing. We live in the St. Louis area and we were in the KC area this past weekend and so we ventured into this Whataburger for lunch. This is my plea for Patrick Mahommes to open up one here in the St. Louis area. The restaurant was clean, the food was exceptional for fast food and a special shout out to Glen who was behind the counter taking my order. I have never experienced a fast food employee (including Chick-fila) who was so welcoming, thorough, knowledgable and kind.
