To call this place my own little slice of heaven would be no exaggeration. I LOVE noodles, especially noodle soups and especially especially ramen. A massive bowl of ramen is the perfect cure to whatever ails you; trust me, I ate ramen almost every single day when I had COVID. Thankfully I wasn't infected with anything except hunger when I came here.
My party of 5 has varied tastes. Some of us are noodle junkies, some of us like broth, and some of us would rather not touch a noodle with a six foot pole. Jumbo Noodles Bar, despite what the name would suggest, is so much more than noodles. Their appetizers range from a traditional gyoza to a plate of spicy-mayo coated karaage, to even edamame and takoyaki. Entrees feature a variety of fried rice selections, and most unique is their offering of an individual hot pot! That's right, a whole individual hot pot just for you, served on its own burner that gets lit right at the table! I'd give it a sixth star just for that alone!
But how's the food taste? In a word: incredible. Everything is so fresh and so flavourful. My rich garlic ramen was just that: rich and garlic. From the first sip of broth, the garlic was present but not overpowering. And loaded with toppings too! Beneath the pile of extra spring onion that I asked for was two generous pieces of chashu, and sitting off to the side was an entire uncut soft-boiled egg. Everything was perfect. As a local ramen fan, this definitely hit the spot; had I not filled up on the karaage I got as well, I could have finished the entire bowl.
A place like this could only be complemented by something only one other location around here has done: a sauce bar. This sauce bar was located right next to the front counter and had a wide variety of options for you to mix and match to your stomach's content. It's the perfect complement to everything on the menu. That's right, including the ramen. In fact, make yourself up a tasty sauce and add it right into your ramen; that's how good everything here is.
As the countless maneki-neko (Beckoning Cat [or lucky cat for you uninformed]) watch over me from above, all I can think about is how much I want to come back. Sure it can get pricy in a big party, but each ramen bowl or hot pot is so reasonably priced that you could simply come by yourself and not spend more than $30 for a starter, entree, and drink. In fact, since it's right next to the massive movie theatre, you can skip the overpriced popcorn and soda and put those savings toward a delicious post-movie soup, allowing yourself a moment of pure peace. Quite honestly, bring a friend and split a hot pot, there's that much food plus every meal is better with friends.
10/10, one of the best places for ramen...
Read moreTLDR; Definitely recommend Jumbo Noodles.
I base my reviews in comparison to like, kind and quality of the vicinity that I'm reviewing in, and Jumbo Noodles Bar delivers.
Food: For appetizers, we decided to go with the bang bang shrimp. Shrimp was very well breaded with a nice crunch and texture, or as crunchy as it can be for having been covered in sauce. The sweet chili sauce that coats the shrimp has always been a favorite of mine. I ordered the very popular rich garlic Ramen and it certainly did not disappoint. The garlic flavor is absolutely present so if you're a garlic lover like myself, it's the perfect bowl. Pro-tip if you REALLY love garlic, ask for extra fresh garlic on the side and add as desired. My wife ordered the crispy chicken don. I didn't try any but she said it was definitely satisfying, crispy breaded and fried pieces of chicken coated with a flavorful, not too spicy sauce, with a side of rice. One item that we loved was the plain noodles and soup option. Our 2 year old doesn't like too much going on in her food so this was the perfect option, plain bowl of just noodles and soup of choice. They give a large portion for the price you pay. Needless to say our daughter daughter loved it.
Service: 2nd to none. Water cups remain full at all times, food came out what seemed like instantly, barely any wait time. Any time we needed attention they were never far away and able to address immediately. Very friendly staff, greeted at the door and periodically checked back with us to see if we needed anything.
Atmosphere: Fantastic ambiance and decoration. Really gives you the feeling of sitting in a traditional Ramen shop. There wasn't any blatantly loud music playing and we were able to enjoy our food at the pace we wanted while sitting comfortably I'm their...

I’m only 20 years old but in my short life (living in Overland Park) never have I had such a genuinely unique experience at a restaurant in town. I immediately was taken away by how amazing the scenery was when you walk in, everything from the posters on the wall to the memorabilia on the shelf’s has a story behind it. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the place is the bike on the counter along the back side of restaurant. I wish I could tell you the story behind it but if I did it wouldn’t give you a reason to come here, so for that reason, I’ll let you hear it for yourself in person. The story teller behind it all is the owner, Bill. I had a chance to meet Bill briefly after me and my buddies finished up our meals and holy cow I’m glad I was able to meet him. He is an amazingly interesting guy and easy to talk to. If you ever have a chance to say hi to him while you are in there I highly suggest you do so. Even with all these cool stories, there is still something about this place that people need to experience for themselves… the food! The selections are simple yet amazing looking. My experience with the spicy ramen was fantastic and it was presented exactly how I had imagined it. The flavor was as authentic as it gets for ramen (to my knowledge) and the spice level was very reasonable. I also got the squid balls, which I was hesitant at first to eat (because of the name) but trust me they are amazing!
With all this being said, that was only my first time being there. I hope all of the future customers are able to have as awesome of an experience as I...
