I can really only speak for the toy shop portion as I did not experience the party portion at Pump It Up. I give 4 stars, but I'm on the fence about it. The selection has deeply dropped from what our local US Toy used to be. It is seriously reduced by like 75%. The magic section is not there at all (my 7 year old would have loved the magic section). I used to buy tempera by the gallon there as well. We moved out of the area so it became less accessible, hence the reason for my long absence from shopping there. They do have pretty good stuff for the space they now have. Really, I should change it back to 5 stars. It's not their fault that our local property values have skyrocketed, and most people just shop online.
The staff were very friendly. Even though they were swamped with party goers, they still made sure I found what I was looking for and apologized for the diminished scale of the store. The pricing was still really good, too. The rubber balls I bought would have been $5 at Five Below, and I got two for $5 at US Toy.

Read moreamazing variety of novelty and carnival items. best place around for costume make-up and face paint/costume accessories. edit as of 3/26/2022: the costume shop is closed, and all inventory moved to the main US Toy floor. eventually the brick and mortar location will close their doors, as everything is 40% off at the time of this update. it hurts my absolute SOUL to see this facility leave, as I am a third generation customer since the days of 103rd and State Line, but the staff assured me that they will be fine as they're moving onto other endeavors. Thank you, US Toy, Magic Shop, Leatha and everyone, for being there for this cosplayer through her lifetime. I'll miss...
Read moreI was very excited to check out this place based on some recommendations. Drove there very excited. My mother hadn’t put her mask yet and within two minutes a store employee RUNS to ask her if she has one. Almost as if her job is to chase people who don’t have them. My mom didn’t understand the question correctly so said yes. Then she asked again: do you have a mask? My mother said: yes. Employee says: well can you put it on NOW? Like my mom is a naughty toddler. Get out man. People with health issues are exempt. It’s dumbfounding how people fall for this trap and are so ignorant. We both left and I will in no way return ever. 1/10 does...
