First to talk about the atmosphere and the service, the entrance to the actual restaurant is a little confusing. There are 2 ways to enter 1 is just past their coffee and bistro area that serves star bucks coffee, the other is to the right of the check in desk. There isn't a host to seat you but there is a host stand that has a copy of the current menu. This weekend they are running a special menu only offered during Naka-kon that features some amazing Japanese dishes. They also have many of their regular menu items available.
There is 1 server that will take care of you if you sit but it may take a while for them to notice you as it's open seating and folks from other dining areas of the hotel can be found sitting randomly. This makes it quite confusing so I highly recomend just sitting at or near the bar for a better service experience.
I sat at the bar and Gina was my server who was absolutely amazing. She is the super star that runs the ship so to speak. I started out with one of their Naka-kon featured adult beverages. It was called the Japanese slipper, it was midori, triple sec and lemon. Gave it a 6.5 out of 10.
I ordered their wings and omg a 10 out of 10 this is a Naka-Kon exclusive only available this weekend.
For the main course I ordered their club sandwhich a regular offered item with fries. The club was ok could use a little mustard and lacked some real flavor give it a 6.
The fries reminded me of the fries you get at B&B theatres and those are a solid 10, so I had to rate these the same.
Then onto desert I ordered a apple tort. It was a baked pastry with with apple and a creamy custard like whipped creme on top this was very flavorful and I give it a 8.5 out of 10.
I ordered 1 more drink at the end of the night, a blue Hawaiian. It's blue cerisal, tequila, soda water, triple sec, a slice of lemon. This slapped hard and was the punch I needed for my night. A 8 out of 10.
Overall for Google review sake I give the atmosphere a 4 star, the service a 4 star, and the...
Read moreI had one of the worst experiences ever here. I was with a group of 7. First we were told no one could take our order because no one was clocked in, yet two people were doing side work? Then it took 30 minutes for the woman to get to us. When she did, she check ID’s but demanded to see mine twice for some reason. Then proceeded to argue with me about my ID and insinuated I was lying about her looking at it once already. After that she tried to redeem herself and be nice to the people I was with. When she brought us our drinks she gave me the wrong beer. When I went to the bar to have it fixed she yet again insinuated I was a liar, poured another beer and told me to take it because she would not waste a beer. I have no idea why she decided to single me out and be so rude. She kept claiming “it’s been a day, my brain isn’t working.” In my opinion, that is no excuse to be as rude as she was. I didn’t get her name, but she was older and blonde. She was awful. She cost herself a tip for her words and actions. A few of the people I was with have been to this bar many times and said that she has always been extremely rude and distraught. I don’t know how she is still allowed to serve other with such a bad attitude and bad work ethic. I do not recommend this bar if your wanting to remain happy...
Read moreI visited the bar a couple times while staying at the Sheraton hotel. The atmosphere a nice, lovely decor and the prices are fair for a bar in this area. There’s a small drink and food menu but there’s a pretty decent variety of liquor and beer. Unfortunately, the bartender Kathy was bossy with the other employees and horribly rude with me. One evening, I went for a snack before heading out to an event. I ordered calamari and it was not what I expected, so requested hummus instead. Afterwords, the bartender became short with me. When I finished eating I ordered some chicken strips togo. They came out cold and had sauce from something else smeared on it, so gross! I sent it back. Kathy snatched the bag, stormed away and slammed it into the trash. I asked why she was so upset instead of being more concerned with customer service, maybe just apologize and offer me another option. She wouldn’t even look at me! Luckily the bar manager, Celia, happened to be there. She was SUPER sweet, agreed that the bartender was behaving inappropriately and refunded the chicken. She even hand-delivered another order of hummus and a card to our room. Celia is a keeper. Miss Kathy needs some lessons on how hospitality works. Bottom line: I won’t be visiting the bar for the...
