1/2 of us had fun. 1/2 not so much. This was our first trip here. We had 2 flights with second being high fly and then pizza and drinks after. Several issues though. 1. online it states people over 300 lbs need to let the instructor know. At the facility it states 260 lbs and ifly Reserve the right to deny you depending on which instructor your assigned and how comfortable the instructor is with flying sith people of that size. But theyll reimbure you if they decide you cant fly. But youre already there and have to go through that embarrassment. Several of our party was at 260-290. Had I known the 260 lb was the real cut off I may have chosen something different to do for a christmas gift for us. They didnt have a helmet that fit one of our flyers (he's not even one of the heavier flyers). By the time it was time to fly and his turn his head was pounding and going numb from how tight the helmet was pushed on his head. He opted out. Said he could not take the pressure from the helmet as well as the pressure from the wind tunnel. We were never asked what kind pizza or soda/juice we liked. We got to the room and there was 2 cheese (maybe some pepperonies on one...or they accidentally just attached from a different pizza order) and one 2 liter bottle of cola and one 2 liter bottle of sprite and a few cans of diet something for 7 adults. The pizza was from minskys. Minskys gets a their own review of that disaster they sent over...not iflys fault....miskys should have known better than to send that tepid pile of grease out the door. Some of us will be back for more iFly others of...
Read moreI am so disappointed in the operations here.. We booked our trip and received the confirmation call from Cali Aug 9th at 2:40pm for our flight Wed. Aug. 10th at 3:30. We were 5 minutes from pulling into their parking lot and the manager called and said due to illness they had to cancel. No heads up at all and scrambled to fill afternoon with something for our 4 boys to enjoy. They were so sad. He rescheduled us to Thurs. Aug 11th at 4pm. Called again at 11:45am and cancelled our flight for Thursday. We drove 5 hours one way to do this so we said we would even stay later in the day Friday to squeeze it in. Scheduled us at 12:45 Friday, but called back and said they just couldn't squeeze us in but said they would compensate us somehow for our 10 hour round trip drive and all the cancelations and not able to get our flight in. I called a few weeks after we returned home and spoke again with Calli who said the manager would call me but never did. I emailed several times with no response. I figured this is what would happen and even told Calli that if we returned in a year, the manager told me "to remind" them of all the inconveniences and they would make it right but I said no I would like a gift card or something so that if people quit and don't remember this incident it won't get swept under the rug as no big deal to them but a big disappointment to us only. No one has ever reached back out like he assured us. People and businesses who do not honor their word and have no integrity are not people to support. Very sad and disappointing to all 4 of my kids. Would not recommend...
Read moreThe facility is excellent, and one of the newer iFly tunnels. And of course, iFly is friggin blast and I recommend everyone try it.
The customer service experience is uneven at this location, perhaps due to it being newer, and the "dude" vibe among the instructor and operator fraternity is frankly a bit more dudeish than many other tunnels. Management would do well to focus more training effort on professionalism, and experience among instructors and drivers. My first experience there was below average with a newer less experienced instructor who was so conservative with me that I never got enough airspeed or latitude to work on my progression in the 8 minutes we spent together. I was there with coworkers many of whom were first timers though and they all had an enjoyable time.
For my second trip, I booked by phone and requested one of the more experienced instructors. Despite that request my reserved group didn't fly with that requested staffer. We were lucky however to get Logan who had an excellent attitude and was happy to work with me. I wasn't terribly impressed with the attentiveness of the driver during the flights of some of the first timers. The instructor appeared to need to get his attention a few times to adjust air speed and/or the speed was ill chosen for the flyer. I don't know if he took any photos either which is a missed revenue opportunity.
I really enjoy iFly, and think the KC location could get busier and have more return traffic with more focus and training on customer service. It has some catch up to do relative to the other 4 iFly...
