Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Overland Park

I don’t know who runs this Schlotzsky’s, but they deserve an award. Hands down, this is the best fast food experience I’ve ever had—if you can even call it fast food. Every time I go, it’s consistently great, and the level of attention to detail is honestly ridiculous.

When I walked in, someone literally ran to the register to make sure I was greeted and ready to order. I’ve never seen anything like it. And the organization? Next level. Every condiment packet, every straw, every napkin—perfectly lined up like someone took the time to make sure everything was facing the same way. It’s one of those little things that tells you this place is run by people who actually care.

On top of that, they’ve never messed up my order—not once. The food is always fresh, made exactly how I asked, and just hits the spot every time. The sandwiches are legit, but even beyond that, the whole experience is just smooth. It’s rare to find a place that’s this consistent.

And the cleanliness? Unreal. This place is spotless—not just clean, but sparkling. The tables, floors, drink station—everything looks like it’s been scrubbed down constantly. Add in the fact that everyone working here is genuinely friendly and welcoming, and it just puts the whole experience over the top.

On 7/9/19, I had a craving for Schlotzsky's but I was way too lazy to want to drive to get it... so I turned to Door Dash to place an order for my boyfriend and I. After placing my order, I realized that I selected the wrong bread type on one of the sandwiches (of course, it was my sandwich), so I immediately contacted Door Dash via the chat option. Unfortunately, Door Dash was not willing to help me out and they indicated that once the order is placed, it is done and cannot be changed but that I could place an additional order if I wanted. As a "last ditch effort", I contacted the Schlotzsky's location that I believed would be filling my order. The man I spoke with indicated that my sandwich had already been made. I thanked him and he asked why I was calling and when I told him that I selected the wrong bread, he immediately offered to swap it out for the bread that I wanted. I told him that I didn't want to waste any food and the man indicated that he would rather that I enjoy my sandwich and have something that I truly want. This move WON ME OVER from here on out. What a funny name for a resturant that serves truly great sandwiches, the kind like you would make at home if you had all the ingredients plus the fresh buns, as if we have all that at home. My husband is from Omaha, where he had his first Schlotzsky, so when he found one here in KC, He just had the biggest smile ever!!! We stopped in a couple of weeks ago, , he had the Delux with all the trimmings, I had the Loaded Baked Potatoe soup. The sandwich was huge and delish, while my soup was creamy, cheesy, full of bite sized potaoes and layered with a perfect amount of BACON! The dining inside was CLEAN & socially distanced, plus the patrons were totally enjoying their meals because no one was talking, justed happy to have a hand made delish sandwich in their hands and their mouths chewing on a pefectly huge sandwich.
