Oviedo notoriously doesn't have many good non-chains to eat at. So finding diamonds in the rough like this are very exciting for me. We came here one day, needing a nice big to-go lunch that was near home. Thank goodness we did, because this place was awesome. Ambiance was everything you want from a BBQ place. A shabby little shack surrounded by a free-for-all, dirt parking lot, a line out the door all day long, a camped interior that is way too hot for prolonged exposure. Just wonderful ambiance all around. Service was good. The staff behind the counter were hustling and getting orders out in a hurry, both in-person and mobile orders, and the sign outside was designed to let us know what product they are out of for the day, always a great sign of great BBQ. I'm not sure if all of their bread is free, but there was a basket at the end of the counter and they asked me how many I wanted. Great touch. As for the food, it was walked the walk. We got a big combination plate with four meats and three sides. Looks like we got the ribs, the brisket, the pulled pork, and the sausage. With sides of beans, mac 'n' cheese, and mashed sweet potatoes. Also ordered an extra side of sauce. It was all banging. Ribs fell off the bones and had a good smoke, brisket was perfectly moist and had not too much fat on them, pulled pork was naturally porky and not dry. The only thing was the sausage. The flavor was fine, but the way it was sliced really diminished the snapping bite potential, and the texture inside was a little off. All the meats were great, though. Sides were equally excellent. A BBQ place lives and dies by its sides. Beans were slightly sweet, slightly smokey, and I loved the mixture of three beans in there. Mac 'n' cheese was good too. The perfect cheesy level, and a good bite on the noodles. Sweet potatoes were good, too, but not life changing. Experiment with another side, if you're not too keen on sweet potatoes anyway. Overall, what a wonderful little place that we have right smack dab in the middle of sleepy little Oviedo. It's so close to home, very delicious, and I will be back!

This was some of the best BBQ we've ever had seriously. I'm so happy that my husband found this place. It's small and quaintly appointed. Very cozy and feels like home. There is plenty of outdoor seating and they do have a hand washing area outside. Great value and some of the best customer service I've experienced. It's family owned and operated. They put their hearts in this place and it shows. The staff was so friendly and seem like such amazing people. Please patronize them you will not be disappointed. I got the Texas plate with chicken, brisket and ribs OMG words CAN NOT describe how good this food is. The beans are so different and so yummy, the Mac and Cheese is wonderful and has a nice Smoky flavor, the yam souffle tasted like heaven. The amount of food you get for the price is insane. The BBQ sauce is excellent with a perfectly tangy balance. They also have homemade desserts which were out of this world good. Even the potato salad and coleslaw were great and that's very uncommon. The Texas plates came with a can of pop. However, they also have a really unique bottled soda variety. PLEASE YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE I now know why they have such great reviews.

This place is insanely over priced, almost $70 for 3 meats (about 1/3lbs each), 2 sides and 1/2 a pound of smoked beef sausage. The food is decent, but no where near worth the price. The brisket was underwhelming and the mac and cheese appeared to be plain noodles with cheese sauce plopped on top (not even mixed in). The ribs were good, but fall off the bone tender which is not my preference, potato salad was okay, the turkey was probably the best thing on my plate, which should not be the case at an authentic bbq spot. I don’t see myself returning. **edit** the owner kept their word and refunded me for the order which spoke volumes to me about this small family owned business, I recently returned and switched my order up a bit. Texas combo with brisket, turkey (plus two sides) and 1/4lbs of beef sausage.. came out to about $40 which was a much better deal, the brisket was AMAZING this time! I got loaded mash instead of the Mac and cheese this time which was also AMAZING. I will in fact be returning.

Excellent BBQ and Incredible Value, Just Watch the Weather!

A visit to Brisket's BBQ Shack & Grill in Oviedo is a must for any true barbecue lover. This spot delivers exceptionally well-cooked meats and delicious sides at a price point that offers outstanding value. My wife and I stopped by for dinner and left thoroughly impressed.

The Food: The Undeniable Highlight

The star of the show here is, without a doubt, the food. I ordered the Texas Combination, which featured brisket burnt ends, and they were cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you order brisket. The accompanying BBQ sauce was delightfully tasty. My wife enjoyed the Mac Bowl topped with brisket, another hearty and satisfying choice. The portions for both meals were generous, ensuring you won't leave hungry. A special mention must go to the sweet potato casserole; it was so delicious I was tempted to order a second helping.

Ambiance & Seating

Brisket's offers an entirely outdoor dining experience with plenty of spacious picnic tables equipped with umbrellas. We visited on a day with perfect weather, which made for a beautiful and relaxed dinner setting. However, it's important to note this setup is weather-dependent. On a hot Florida summer day or during a rainstorm, the lack of indoor seating could be a significant drawback. That said, the food is so good that I wouldn't hesitate to order it for takeout to enjoy at home.

Service and Value

The service model is a straightforward and efficient counter-service system. You simply walk inside to place your order, and the staff we interacted with were very friendly and welcoming. For the quality and quantity of food you receive, the value is simply excellent. My Texas Combination was only $17, a fantastic price for a meal of this caliber.

Final Verdict

I highly recommend Brisket's BBQ Shack & Grill. It's the perfect spot for a casual and delicious meal when the weather is in your favor. The combination of perfectly cooked brisket, standout sides, and incredible value for money makes it a top-tier choice in the area. If the skies look threatening, do yourself a favor and...

I came to see how a restaurant could have a 5 star total review score. It is a near impossible task to ask when it comes to food... to please every single guest that comes through the door. So, I just had to come and see what the noise was all about. First, let me say this is a true mom and pop operation. When you come in its very unassuming and simple. They have figured out the secret; that nobody cares about anything but the food on their plate. I have been writing reviews for 11 years and I can tell you now that nobody deserves 5 STARS more then this place!! I can honestly say this is the best food I ever have had. I am willing to bet anybody to put up your money and bring your food and try your luck! I assure you that its a lost cause. The smoked meat here is special, a perfect blend of smoke and spices tender and flavorful. I tried every thing on the menu, every piece of meat, every side, and dessert looking for somthing to let me down and it didnt happen. The sides are phenomenal. You have to try the baked crazy beans, a perfect blend of flavor and texture. The mac and cheese is a classic and the banana pudding was an old school delight. However, the star of the show is their B.B.Q. sauce. Which was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy acidity. Its so good that they should sell mason jars of it. Its hard to find an authentic true to its core old school restaurant. I am here to tell you this is it. If you care about food that stands on its own and knocks your socks off... please please try it!! You will not be...
