Local museum to take the kids too, especially toddlers! Tickets are a good price! We went on a weekend and it was empty. They had tons of neat little things to do. I was considering getting a membership since there are not many toddler geared activities in Owensboro…HOWEVER…. Everything is outdated and dirty. It doesn’t look like they clean anything (cue the germs and kiddos getting sick). My LO was so excited to see the trains but only one button worked. They would have at least updated the batteries for stuff. Every section showed items that were under renovation which is fine that’s normal but when I mentioned it to my Husband he said it was under renovation when he was a kid!! so when will they actually have it finished? The kids area was neat but so dirty. The water activity section the water was brown and had a smell- so we avoided our LO’s hands going in it.
I understand it is an older building but the entire building smelt like mildew and an old basement.
This has so much potential however my concerns lie with the cleanliness, making sure items work, and the updates?
This is definitely geared towards toddlers or ages 5 and under.
I hope they make changes so we can come back and get a...
Read moreVisited during spring break on a Tuesday with two kiddos in tow. The cave downstairs is pretty cool. Enjoyed it my self. Lots of variety on things to do and see. Upstairs, still not finished from when we visited years ago but they did remove the nuts and bolt magnet so that's good (last visit had to watch my one year old because nuts and bolts were scattered all over the play place). Big room with slides was cool. 4&5 year old loved it. Features a shadow room, water table, Lego station, coloring station, neat electrical activities, show about clouds presented while we were there. Very informative. We spent two hours there and circled back to some favorites. PS. Watch alone the baseboards, mice houses with doors you can peek...
Read moreI'll start by saying we got a military discount so it was only $2/ person to get in- which helped us enjoy it. The first floor starts out great with the birds, microscopes and a cave area. The area above the first floor (like level 1.5) was also neat but kinda underwhelming. The second floor was lame, a lot of wasted space in the presidential area that didn't have really anything on display. They definitely need to modernize their exhibits (especially since none of the TVs were even on) and upgrade their sad, old taxidermy. It's cute and has a lot of potential, but I'd love to see this place grow bigger- especially repurposing the second floor to actual exhibits. Otherwise, we had an okay hour or so looking...
