I eat alone a lot, and am older, so I get this a lot, but this is the worst. The waiters are obnoxiously rude, and arrogant. The woman taking to money must be an owner and she allows them to treat customer's like that. It must be customary in China to be rude to customers. Bc it's an art with them. Horribly rude. I came in wanted to order fried rice off the menu bc my stomach was upset and I was not feeling well, so I needed something easy on my stomach. The waiter almost screamed at me, "What?" with a scowl on his face bc I was not having the bar (easier on him). After he did this twice, I was not feeling good, and slammed my fist down on the table and with my meanest face and voice, I said, You listen to me! Focus on what I am saying! Listen! I want Vegetable Fried Rice!! For the first time in my life, I did not tip this man and left him a note: that it was customary in America for tips to be given based upon service and friendliness. So I was not tipping him a dime. The next time I came in, they obviously tried. But this last time, it happened again. He was so rude. I watched as he waited on a woman with a man, and was so nice to them. What a fake, just mean to a woman alone. Again, I asked for Vegetable Fried rice, with no MSG, bc it drives my blood pressure up. The rice came out bathed in Soy Sauce, which is high in salt, later my heart was pounding. The man was obnoxious, and the owner laughed about it. Horrible people. Don't waste your time with these jerks. Nasty...
Read moreI loved China luck prior to the closure. I was thrilled when they reopened. I was disappointed with the new restaurant based on: it’s basically lunch menu only now. You can’t order an entree and get a whole plate of that entree. You get a small portion of an entree, rice, soup and an egg roll. That’s a lunch menu special at most Chinese restaurants, but this is all they offer and it’s in the $15-16 range (nothing special about that). the pre-closing restaurant had some of the best egg rolls that could be found anywhere. Hand rolled, overstuffed and delicious. Those are now gone in favor of something you could get in the Sam’s freezer section. service was atrocious, but the waitresses were not to blame. It was so criminally understaffed it should not have been open.
These things were undoubtedly done to increase margin, but they have betrayed their customer base in doing so. If you want good American style Cantonese food you should skip this new version of China luck and head to Golden China in Gadsden Al.
I took no pleasure in writing this review and hope ownership will change its philosophy and make needed changes. Sorry...
