On vacation we were out for a drive and found ourselves in Oxford, PA. Looking for a non-chain type place to eat we found the Sawmill Grill. The reviews looked good so we figured we'd give it a try. They had a good crowd for a Friday lunch but we were seated quickly in the upstairs section. A little too noisy for my wife. There was a loud group on one side and a very young child that couldn't get him mother's attention on the other side. Turning off her hearing aids resolved that issue. Service was quick and the food came out hot from the kitchen. I opted for the Bruhlwich. A Buffalo chicken breast between two waffles drizzled with syrup and powdered sugar. An interesting flavor combination that seemed to work. With each bite you could taste the waffle, syrup and hot sauce. My only issue was the dish was so heat hot that I had to let it sit to cool down a bit and the waffles got soggy with the syrup. It didn't effect the flavor at all and I ate every bite. It just made it a little messy cutting it. My wife had Grandma G's Homemade Chicken Salad Sandwich. Nice, solid chunks of chicken with good flavor. Both dishes came with their soon-to-be famous Sidewinder Fries. I'd venture to say that each side of fries was more potato than you'd get with a large baked potato. We ended up taking most of the fries home. If we ever find ourselves in Oxford again we know where to eat. There are other items on the menu that I want to try.

We liked it here and enjoyed the food. We had traveled up from Maryland heading back to Philly but detoured slightly to hit a particular store. While checking out local places to eat, this one caught our eye. We ordered and shared two dishes. The Burgitto, an odd sounding mixture of burrito and cheeseburger. Think texmex items like rice, beans, salsa and avocado on a cheeseburger it strangely works even if it's a bit messy to eat. The fish and chips were very good. Fried pretty well although I'm pretty sure they're frozen and brought in. Fresh battered would have been even better. The taste was good though especially when paired with the tartar. This tasted like it was made in house though I could be wrong. The cole slaw was good as well and I'm picky about my slaw. The best part of it all was the sidewinder fries. They're like French fry chunks, oddly shaped and thick but fried perfectly and tasty. They're kind of like mangled steak fries and I loved them. I want more right now.

TLDR: Food and service were amazing. If we were ever back in the area, we'd come back. We came in around 1pm with 4 kids and 3 adults. They were able to accommodate us immediately. We weren't sure if NYE constituted a parking holiday and only had cash. They were kind enough to make change for us. We started with the fried pickles, which were crisp & juicy. The adults had the taco special, the chicken & waffle sandwich, and the chicken salad sandwich. We all enjoyed our food. The portions were huge, and we all needed take-home continers for about ⅓ of our food. The fries that come with them are curly and fun; nice and crispy, the prefect fry. The kids had hamburgers and chicken tenders. Each meal was 6.99 and came with fries and a drink. The kids ate, so that's a glowing review from them. 🤣 I forgot to get pictures when the food arrived, but here's some current menu pictures:

Update 08/24: After several years, I decided to give them another opportunity. It was pretty much the same experience as previously. Average service, we waited about 10 minutes before a server came out to recognize our existence. Sub-par quality foods, and we had to go inside to get our own silverware. What made the experience worse was the fact they do-not support the 🇺🇸US Military🇺🇸, which is appalling and disgraceful behavior. In-fact, it's totally inexcusable and they should be ashamed of themselves for disrespecting the Military and our Veterans! Have a Blessed day....

I went there when they 1st opened and thought they were pretty good, but went back the other evening with a friend and he ordered the nachos and a cheeseburger. The notchos were not so great as they were not homemade they were from a box or plastic bag pre-made elsewhere and the nachos seem kind of messy. The cheeseburger I tasted was very salty and not as good as I remembered when I 1st went there when they just opened up. It could be just me, as my taste buds have improved over the past few years. I'm what people call a foodie. I don't just eat food, but I taste every part of the food, from the texture, to the full flavor, unlike most people who just eat food to fill their bellies. The staff was very friendly, even though they were closing within the hour. My friend had to place his order immediately as the kitchen was closing within a few minutes. My friend wanted to order some dessert, but was told by the waitress the kitchen was already closed, which was kind of odd to say, as it's not very difficult to put a piece of cake or pie on a plate and bring it out to a customer, which doesn't require the help of a kitchen staff member. Lol.... Overall, a decent small town bar-restaurant. Have a Blessed...

I never ever write bad reviews, especially for a local business but the meal was so poor and the service so medicore for a special occasion, and we chose to celebrate here.. First the location is not handicapped accessible so we struggled to get my eldery mom with a walker in the door, then they give us a table with more stairs, why??..The waitress was not nice, rather abrupt, no smile, not friendly. My mom and I ordered crab cakes and my husband the steak, med well done..The steak was raw and a big white tendon going through it..the waitress was no where to be found to send back to cook longer. The waitress never reappeared until our meal was more than half way through, we needed butter, steak sauce, drinks, etc..no service The crab cakes were bloated, with breading and too much bay seasoning..While trying to eat them, another patron came over to our table and said to us, aren't they terrible, and proceeded in telling us she too made the mistake of ordering them...this didn't make us feel too happy. We all ordered mashed potatoes, which we thought were going to be regular mashed potatoes but we were served were boiled, waterlogged potatoes, luke warm, not whipped with butter and milk..we couldn't eat them, horrible. We spent $100+ for food and tip, for a special birthday meal that we couldn't not eat..I am so disappointed because we spent a lot of money and it was a special event for my family, and it was such...
