The Ugly Mutt Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Oxford

Service was very slow. Wife ordered a diet Coke after she tasted the water which had an aftertaste and must have been unfiltered tap water. Waitress forgot about the Diet Coke as she was the only waitress for the entire place and was so busy she stopped taking my alcoholic drink orders after 2 drinks. Now to the food. We started out with a 1/2 order of nachos and the portion was huge. Big turnoff for me was the cheese wiz they squirt all over them. Is shredded cheese too expensive to serve? Wife had fish and chips which was good and I had Chicken Parmesan sandwich which was also good. I see that the owner responds to these reviews, but see the same consistent complaints where nothing gets changed. How about listening to what your customers are saying and make the place better? We decided to try this place over the Sawmill Grill tonight to see if we were missing out on anything and we were decidedly not. Probably won’t come back for another couple years.

Just before we left, the place filled up and there were probably 50-60 people inside. 1 waitress!!!! It’s Saturday...

Me and my family are always looking for new restaurants to try, especially ones that aren't big chains, but it seems like were always disappointed in the end... well not this time!!! The Ugly Mutt was an all around great experience! The food was amazing (I recommend the ribs) and the service was top notch! I have 13, 9 and 3 year old boys and all 3 ate all their food (which never happens) and not one had a single complaint about anything (which also never happens). The atmosphere is not so loud that you can't talk but not so quiet that I feel like my kids are the loudest in the place. It was an all around great time! We will definitely be going back! P.S. I don't usually tip 20% especially since at most places the service is far less than great but our waitress, I believe her name was stephani, was extremely friendly, on top of everything and she made my family feel like regulars!! she deserved every penny!!!!! I would recommend this place to my friends...

Been dining here for the better part of 13 years, sad to say its turning into a dump. Managers scared to manage. For a place that struggles for continued business a little hospitality is appropriate. Three straight deplorable visits. Its time to redirect and find another bar/dining location. Shoulda stayed Yellow dog. I encourage anyone considering a nice place to dine, skip this outside of the wings that my last visit had no sauce , I ordered mild on them there isn't a solid reason to be questioned when you bring to them a drink ordered doesn't taste correct. Heres a better answer , just remake my beverage....
