Me and my boyfriend decided to try out the Chinese buffet, but unfortunately, our visit left much to be desired.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by an unpleasant odor of feces and rotten water from an indoor fish pond located at the entrance. The initial impression was far from inviting.
We paid nearly $50 for the buffet, expecting a wide variety of food options, but were disappointed to find a limited selection. Most of the meat and fish trays were empty, with only shrimp available. It was disheartening to see the lack of choices for the price we paid.
The seating situation was also horrible. Many tables were closed off, forcing all customers to sit close to each other. Our table was dirty, covered in hair strands, which was disgusting.
To make matters worse, the air conditioning was turned off, making the dining area unbearably hot. It felt like a sauna, even hotter than the heat wave outside. Sweating throughout the meal was uncomfortable and made the experience far from enjoyable.
One of the Asian workers displayed rude behavior, giving us attitude throughout our meal. She was constantly watching us about 3 feet behind our table, and didn't even try make it discrete by standing far away , which made us feel unwelcome. Whether it was due to racism or personal dislike, her behavior was unprofessional and made our visit uncomfortable.
Additionally, the cashier did not provide us with a receipt, and the same Asian worker wanted us to pay again. After a long discussion, we were able to convince her we did pay, but the incident was unsettling.
The final straw came when The Asian worker brought our drinks from the back instead of being served outside like the other worker was serving drinks. I wouldn't be surprised if she spit in our drinks and gave us dirty drinks which we decided not to risk drinking it.
Unfortunately, the overall experience left us disappointed and gave me diarrhea all night. This was a clear indication that something was not right with the restaurant's hygiene standards.
Considering everything we encountered, I cannot recommend dining at this place. I sincerely hope this was just a one-time bad experience, but the issues we faced were too significant to ignore. If I knew how to report this place, I would do so and request a health inspection. Everything about this place is a nightmare and I wouldn't be surprised if I contracted...
Read moreI went here yesterday and actually thought the place was cute. The workers aren't as social so they come off as "rude" but one of them admitted that they didn't speak English so maybe that's the issue. I've read on previous reviews that they weren't serving sushi anymore but they do still serve it, maybe they ran out or it wasn't a sushi day? The one thing that made me a little upset was the pricing, the menu said it would only be $13 per customer but when I went with another person it came out to nearly $40 (drinks not included). I know that seems harsh but I'm on low income (as most of us are) so I didn't think it was right considering I did look at the menu ahead of time so I knew how much I was spending and if I had enough for gas(live an hour awa)..etc, so we showed up to find out it was 18.99 instead. If I would of known they raised the prices I would of just went to Golden Corral since its the same price and also was closer for convenience. The other downside to this place is their dessert options are a bit boring, I was hoping for some frozen yogurt or any type of ice cream but all they had were creme puffs, flan and cookies (which is good but not what I wanted). If you're from Ventura and you used to go to the Panda Buffet next to the mall, this place is very similar to it. Now lets talk food! Their food seemed a little sketch, I thought the edamame and broccoli tasted a little off but the salmon and noodles were really good! I couldnt try anything else due to issues with my stomach. The atmosphere was a little awkward only because you literally have their eyes daggering at you the moment you walk around, I get that they're only doing their job but I felt super uncomfortable. I actually left after being there for 20 mins because I felt judged by the employees the 2nd time I went up to see their dessert options. Always make sure to bring your receipt when you get your sodas/drinks because they almost didn't want to give us our waters because they thought we would rip them off...
Read moreNow allow me to say IF A RESTAURANT HAS TAPATIO YOU WIN INSTANTLY ONE STAR. I have came a few times since my first and allow me to say its honestly a really good buffet. The price is right and food is great, but granted i do have my complaints, like others the service is not that great, but honestly its a buffet help yourself, but when asked for a refill or another drink the hostess are always happy to help. Now let me say the quality of their food is honestly better then what i was expecting and especially since the have fried squid, spicy crawfish stead with vegetables, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, fried shrimp, and these are just some of my more favorite entrees, but one of my favorite things is the lemon shrimp soup, now if you don't like over cooked shrimps don't get the shrimps in the soup, but instead grab a bowl and put a few fried shrimps in it and pour the broth. As well they have they're own Mongolian bbq where you can watch them cook you food and have honestly as well some really good sushi. Now their fruits are sometimes really good and fresh and sometimes are whatever and are not that great, but their deserts are the bomb. So everytime i go I'm always satisfied with the environment and food. BUT WHAT THEY REALLY NEED TO DO IS CHANGE THE FISHES WATER LIKE SERIOUSLY IS DIRTY AND POOR FISHES ARE SWIMMING IN IT LIKE CLEAN IT OR...
