You know what Chinese food taste like the next day when you try to reheat it??? This, is that. I know old rice when I taste it. I wondered why they have Lunch Special as well as Dinner (special) Most places, you break your neck to get the special by 3pm and then it's over. They don't sell enough during the day or even two to get to rid of the old rice, hence your late special! I suppose some people catch the fresh rice, hence the mixed reviews.
Secondly, I ordered the General Tso's Chicken. (Everywhere else in the country this comes with broccoli which I usually switch and opt for snow peas) I knew when she looked in a pot and told me (five ) minutes, I was doomed. (It takes 10 when no order is ahead of you everywhere across the country) Bit into my food, it was hot in temperature, but the breading had moisture. It's supposed to be lightly breaded and fried. Anything right out of the oil shouldn't have moisture like that. And these are the smallest egg rolls EVER! plus the veggies inside are indescribable. Thought I was just eating fried rice wrapper. And lastly, y'all are eating sauce one ingredient above ketchup. Not authentic tasteing at all.
Truth is in the eyes of the beholder as well as body language. Watch how your order is taken, the statements or questions asked of you. People selling old food have a tell, they can't help it.
If you can't afford to disperse quality food, kindly...
Read moreI want to take the time to say that do not be turned away by this little hole in the wall restaurant - this is the best Chinese in the Wiregrass, if not all of Alabama. I found this place a while back when we wanted to eat some Asian dishes but didn't have time for the buffett across the street. Thank gosh we did. They actually have real Chinese food unlike Chow King in Dothan. Chow King doesn't even have real loe mein noodles, I think they're using spaghetti or something. Their food is heavenly, and you always feel full after, they don't skimp on the portions. I had a small loe mein and I STILL had leftovers for the next day. They pack it into the takeout containers, there's almost no air in them. I can never get enough of the dumplings either. My family and I have never been disappointed by them. Ordered some yesterday and my father was still raving about it the next morning. Their service is fast and the food is always hot. The staff is very friendly too. We just ate there and I'm already waiting to...
Read moreI would love to have given a great review... but... the the order taking ,as well as the counter personality was autonomous. It was basically " hi, what'd you order?" The order was Kung Po chicken, with White rice instead of fried rice. It also came with an egg roll. The egg roll was 2 and 1/2 bites, over cooked and soggy. Waaayy tiny. It had a slightly burnt taste.
The plate was 2/3's white rice,1/3 main dish. I didn't taste a peanut sauce at all, and the peanuts were just unsalted roasted peanuts thrown on top of the veggies and sauce. ( saw them being shakened out onto the plate), instead of cooked in a peanut sauce and softened.
This is supposed to be a spicy dish. It was not spicy at all. It was almost tasteless.
When I asked for 2 chopsticks, I got 1 set, and an eye roll.
If I try them again, it won't be this dish for sure... and definitely gonna skip...
