I wanted to share my families experience at this restaurant as we were told by a friend that it was a great place to eat. We went on Sunday today and myself and my father-in-law ordered the all you can eat chicken and meatloaf. 40 minutes later, I was handed a plate With an extremely small portion of corn, which was cold, smashed potatoes that were cold and two small chicken wings and a very small piece of meatloaf, which was lukewarm. I was told by our waitress (Jess) that additional chicken would be coming that they had to make it. After eating the small portions of food I was initially given. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for more fried chicken and then was told that they were out of meatloaf.. I was not very happy with the fact that I ordered and all you can eat dinner and I only received one small portion of half of it and the food was cold. Jess then came to our table and gave me a beer that I did not order and initially refused, but she told me that it was free because I had to wait for the chicken and if I didn’t drink it, it would just be thrown away. When it came to pay our bill which was just under $90 I sent my son to the bar to pay the food bill and Jess Watched my son fill out the ticket and he crossed over the tip. My son noticed on the bill that we were charged for the “free beer” that I never asked for in the first place, but our waitress Jess offered. She told my son that she had to charge us for the beer. The same beer that I did not ask for and did not want. Insult to injury when my wife and I were getting ready to walk out, the waitress then walked up to us and said that my son did not tip her. Was taken back by a waitress, approaching patrons and asking about us not giving her a tip. That has never ever happened in my lifetime. The audacity of this waitress, Jess, to ask for a tip after she charged me for a beer that I didn’t ask for and said it was free and for receiving cold food after an extended wait time and half of the food that we ordered they were out of but never care to tell us that they were low on anything with the all you can eat meal deal on Sundays is just an unbelievable slap in the face. We will not be returning to Brown Jerry’s and I assure you I will pass on this experience to all of our friends. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. It seems like a rip off. I’m not sure Mr. Jerry is aware of his waitresses practice or what’s going on in this kitchen, but he has lost business with us. That is for sure. The food was ok. But it was one of my worst restaurant experiences ever! Do not eat here, do not...
Read moreThis was a great find when I was driving around the Eureka/Pacific, MO area on a Saturday around 8 PM, waiting for my gf to get off work. I stopped in to check it out first and got a beer at the bar. The bartender was great at answering my questions and handling all her customers without making anyone feel like they were being ignored. I explained my situation to make sure the restaurant would be able to cook and serve us since I’d be returning about a half hour after what I thought the grill hours were, and she was willing to help me make a plan to have food ready for us after 9 (when my gf was off work.) We discovered the grill closed at 10 PM on Saturdays, and all was good.
I finished my frosty beer (on tap) and went to get my gf and headed back to the restaurant because she loves bbq places. I liked the story behind the restaurant so off we went. We got back and sat down, took forever to order from a menu jam-packed with great choices, and after our long deliberation we quickly had our food in front of us. We had to ask for a recommendation from our waitress and she did not disappoint! We had two appetizers to split - fried pickles and nachos with brisket. Wow! The fried pickles came out piping hot and had a side of ranch. They are small pickle spears instead of coins, the batter was just right (not skimpy or falling off the pickles), and they were absolutely delicious.
The brisket nachos came out within a minute or two of the pickles and blew us away. We just sat for a minute and took it all in… There is a healthy portion of nachos (as in, enough to eat all the toppings, not necessarily nutritional values) filling the basket, covered with nacho cheese sauce, bbq sauce, baked beans, and brisket (meat is an add-on.) This is enough food to be a meal for a hungry person or two or an appetizer for four to six people. Seriously, this dish is so good, I can’t recommend it more highly!
The only complaint, which was more of condition of surprise than complaint was that there were no blues. The stage was covered with cardboard boxes from a recent order, I assume, and the jukebox wasn’t set to play blues so that affected my perception of the atmosphere. I had the brew and the bbq, but missed the blues on a...
Read moreWe had ribs. I haven't had ribs that were so tender I didn't have difficulty eating them. They just fall apart in your mouth. It is nothing but a very satisfactory dining experience. If you enjoy blues a very relaxed atmosphere and excellent food? I would drive to get there to have their ribs.
I live in Bourbon, MO and will gladly make the trip for good ribs.
My next trip to try the pork steak and then the brisket.
If someone can cook ribs tender enough I can eat them on the of denture glue and these ribs didn't disturb my dentures? For those that wear? You will understand this statement.
In my opinion? These are the best ribs that I have tasted since leaving the south.
ALSO, they don't drown the ribs in sauce before they bring them to you. They are delicious enough without the sauce but if you want to add sauce? Served on the side.
I will always make the trip to eat there. I am a senior. My husband and I ordered 1/2 rack (6 ribs) plenty for the two of us. We slept the 2 sides.
With the ribs, 2 glasses of tea our bill was $25 plus change. Added a $5 tip.
We are seniors on a budget and we got excellent food, with drinks and a $5 tip, for less than eating at Applebee's or Olive Garden.
Original food and a good relaxed atmosphere? Worth your time.
I think is is a place everyone should try.
They also have pizza made in a wood oven. May have to try that too.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is worth it.
I 65 on a social security budget, but I bet I can work $30 and $5 of thar was a tip.
You will not regret...
