I cannot say enough good things about Tortitude Cat Cafe!
My husband and I are from Milwaukee, WI and we visit various cat cafes while we travel. We personally have a full house and are not able to adopt any more animals at this time but we absolute love to support these type of businesses and get a total serotonin boost in the process. This was our 13th cat cafe and 11th within the US. Tortitude makes our top most favorites list!
First and foremost, they’re in it for the right reasons! Rescuing cats and giving them an incredible environment while they await their forever home; utilization of therapy cats for amazing purposes; and allowing people to spend time with adoptable cats in a safe, clean, and enriching environment. The workers encourage you to interact with and socialize the cats while always ensuring safety and wellbeing for the felines. There are filtered water for the cats, fresh food, a separate litter box and quiet room just for the cats, an abundance of toys and areas to climb, so many comfy places to relax, and air purifiers all throughout the facility. The cats are clearly well cared for!
Secondly, this place has all the amazing things that truly enhances a cat cafe experience. Adorable cat decor that is fun to browse, cat cookies from a local bakery, an adorable gift shop, a catio for the cats (I’ve only seen this at one other cat cafe), lots of comfortable seating, and SPACE. A lot of cat cafes have a smaller space to work with and less cats. It’s so heartwarming to interact with so many cats at once and not be squished in with other people. At one point I literally had 4 kittens sleeping in my lap, definitely a core memory! They even have a kitten room (this is the first cat cafe I’ve seen have this) and the separate space helps ensure those little ones have time to grow physically and mentally before moving into the main space.
The workers are so kind, knowledgeable, hard working, and clearly passionate about what they do. Learning about the history of the cat colony control and rescue in the area to reduce feral cat populations made me so incredibly happy. I could have chatted with the workers all day. Absolute hearts of gold!
And the admission price is so reasonable. I’ve been to cat cafes in other states that charge $25 a person for 30 minutes for less cats within a smaller space. Paducah is so lucky to have this gem. If I were a local, I would visit this incredible place regularly! Any time I’m in the area, I will visit this amazing place. I so hope Tortitude is able to accomplish their dream of moving into an even bigger space!
I noticed a sign in the lobby with a list of items the cats in the cafe need. My heart was so full, I really felt I needed to do more than buy a shirt and adorable homemade cat cookies. Tortitude Cat Cafe - you have a Chewy donation box and digital gift card headed your way with much love from the Gillingham family (including warm wishes from our two rescue cats - 15 year old tuxedo, Rupert and 2 year old dilute tabby...

Read moreI went to the cat Cafe in paducah, ky on new holt road and was going to try to spend some time with the cats because I have worked at an animal shelter before where showing animals kindness and love is encouraged because it can lift the animals spirit as well as your own but I was denied that opportunity today because you have to pay to spend time with the animals at this establishment and sign a waver to protect the owner. And because I didn't have any money I was not able to make any animals happy instead they have to watch people come in and leave which probably makes them sad and depressed. So needless to say I am highly disappointed in my experience with the cat Cafe in Paducah, ky on...
