I love Chicken Chimichanga and never order anything else at Mexican restaurants. Paducah’s Casa Mexicana does it best. The Chimichanga – a burrito stuffed with either chicken or beef, its edges nicely crisped by its journey through the deep fryer and topped with a creamy white sauce - exits the kitchen so sizzling hot waiters must carry it with potholders to keep from burning their hands. It comes with Pico de Gallo, a blend of tomatoes, onions and jalapenos with a respectable amount of heat, and refried beans, Spanish rice, sour cream and guacamole, all delicious in their own special way. The restaurant's south of the border decor makes the dining room feel cozy, and the tall-backed two-person booths encourage conversation if you are dining with someone and form a private space if you are dining alone. (They have larger booths and tables as well.) Orders are turned around so quickly, you wonder if there is an ongoing battle to see who is fastest: the dedicated kitchen staff or the nimble waiters. Downside? The iced tea is weak, and Sunday’s all-you-can-eat buffet gets...
Read moreI usually try to eat at Casa Mexicana once a week. Highlights are the cheese dip and enchiladas. I enjoy the thin chips served upon arrival.
Their guacamole dip is expensive, but it is very good. Prices for other menu items are about on par as well. Another reviewer mentioned that they were more expensive than other comparable restaurants in the area; I cannot comment on that as I have been to many different Mexican restaurants but not in this particular area. I, however, do not find them to be more expensive than other comparable restaurants I have visited.
Service is about what you would expect from the average Mexican restaurant. Food arrives hot, appears fresh, and doesn't take very long to arrive, even on busy nights. I've not had any reason to complain thus far.
I cannot comment on their bar or alcoholic drinks as I do not partake in them, but they appear to have a wide selection.
Overall, I would recommend them; they are worth your...
Read moreThe food was good, however, the management has devised a way to take advantage of the customers with false advertising of specials. We went there for lunch and ordered a pitcher of margaritas. The sign on the wall said that the margaritas were the Monday special at $10. The pitcher showed up on our ticket at $16. When we brought up this discrepancy to the manager, he said that the sign on the wall was just for decoration and we were the first people to read the sign, anyway. He had already taken our money when we pointed this out and he refused to honor the price. Makes me wonder if the integrity of the food matches the integrity of the management style of deception. I will not be back and I would warn anyone who believes in being treated honestly by an establishment to find another eatery. Shame on these people taking advantage of customers who are trying to support...
