I wanted to take my mom somewhere different/special for Mother's Day this year. We arrive at the restaurant (my mom, myself and 2 daughters) and get 3 adult menu's, no children's menu for Mackenzie (but did get a highchair). Our waitress comes to the table, does not introduce herself and asks us what we'd like to drink. I order a bottle of wine for my mom and I and she says ok & walks away. What about my daughters? I call her back to get their drink order...no apology. She brings our drinks and asks for our order. I state we'd like an appetizer (never asked if we wanted one) then we ordered our entrees. Our food arrives and she places a hot plate with a huge steak knife in front of my 2 year old daughter, both mine & my mom's prime ribs were overcooked, neither of us received our sides (which sadly we did not even realize until we got home) and we found a string in Mackenzie's meal. As our waitress had not checked on us once since delivering our food, I motioned the owner over to our table. Before I completed one sentence he rudely stated let me get your waitress & walked away. The waitress came over and I explained all that was wrong and her response was "well it's not a human hair but I can have her food remade if you'd like". I don't care if its human hair or not, it is not edible and shouldn't be in my daughter's food! She does state that should would have new prime ribs made for my mom & I. Meanwhile, a different waitress walks by our table and bumps into my moms arm so roughly/hard that not only did it hurt her but her food flung across her plate causing the salt shaker on the table to fall and spill into my oldest daughter's plate. This waitress does not stop nor apologizes either. At this point, my oldest gets up, walks over to the owner and explains to him what just happened. He asks which waitress it was and says ok. Ok?! Neither the waitress or owner apologized to my mother. By this point, I am furious and a different girl comes to our table. I ask for a manager and she states she'll get the owner for me. Next thing I see is the girl, our waitress & the owner talking, clearly about us (I heard "string in the spaghetti"). Our waitress comes back to the table and states, I never introduce myself and if you would have told me...I stated that it is horrible not to introduce herself & asked how long she'd been a waitress. She replied 20+ years & I've never introduced myself "here". I then told her that she never once came to check on our food and that I don't care if the string was human hair or not, that it was not edible and shouldn't be in our food. As she continued to argue with me, I said that the service was deplorable, I wanted my check and we wanted to leave. Needless to say, they comped $0 off of our check and the owner never once came to our table. This was the worst $200 I have ever spent in my life. I will never got to SYLVESTRO'S DEPOT in...
Read moreOkay, so I am going to be honest here—I think this restaurant is nothing special. I travel a lot and have ate all Italian restaurants not only all over the country but also in Ohio. I think this restaurant here is expensive for what it is—which in my opinion is somewhat low quality. We spent about $300 here (8 of us on one tab) and I thought the food would be better for how expensive it is. The salad was disappointing and is 100% the same lettuce mix you could easily grab at giant Eagle for like $3 a bag—the house made ranch was actually pretty good, probably the best part of the meal. The portions are good but does that matter when the food isn’t good? Those who ate the lobster and steak said it was not seasoned, two of the steaks were way undercooked compared to how we ordered them. The pasta sauce does not taste like a good homemade sauce (which is what you’d expect from a place that is this expensive). I see why this place is popular in painesville though and that’s because there’s not all that much to pick from nearby—I’d say either go to zappetellis in mentor or to make yourself a pasta dinner at home and save yourself the money because this meal is expensive for what it is. Truly, I have ate at many many restaurants across the US and this i would say has been on of the most disappointing for the price. Also service was not the best.
also I want to warn you that they scam you with the market price—make sure you ask the price before you order. They overcharge and a meal that would probably cost $50 somewhere else may be well above that.
Also I included a picture of the salad so that you can see that is literally just dumped onto your plate from a bag such as the ones you can get from giant Eagle lol. This...
Read moreI decided to try their takeout and ordered a chicken dish that had Bearnaise sauce. I picked up the meal and drove home. This dinner was not cheap at $25.00 but I'm alright with paying the money for a good meal and experience. The dinner was put into a flimsy styrofoam container and an even flimsier cheap white plastic bag. Turns out the cheap white plastic bag had a hole in it and as I got out of the car the Bearnaise sauce poured out onto my shorts. I washed the shorts and the stain remained. I called the restaurant and they put a guy named Jerry (who said he was the owner) on the phone and I explained very calmly to Jerry (could be Gerry) that because of the cheap container and hole in the bag the sauce leaked out and ruined the shorts. All I was looking for was some kind of solution that we could come to as a way to resolve the issue. Jerry immediately become verbally abusive and angry and rude and he told me to sue him. I explained that the anger and threats weren't necessary--that I just wanted to come up with a resolution. He continued to be outrageously and deliberately rude and dismissive. I fully expected the owner to be understanding and what I got instead was a nasty rude and provocative response from the owner. So I will buy new shorts and pay for it myself. (The shorts were from Brooks Brothers-retail at $50.00). But I will never forget how rude the owner was and obviously I will never return. Not so much as a scrap of business professionalism or an so much as an...
