Great to see this relatively new restaurant doing a brisk business at lunch today. It appears that word is getting around that this is the place for some incredible Korean fried chicken! This was my first visit, we tried 3 types of boneless wings: Hot Spicy, Hot Mala, and Spicy Galbi. I am very pleased to say that when they say Spicy, they mean it! Finally, a local restaurant that actually puts flavor and serious spice into their dishes! Portion sizes are generous and after all of our sampling we settled on the Spicy Galbi as our favorite. All preparations have a unique and complex flavor profile. This isn't Frank's Red Hot Sauce thrown onto some Costco chicken chunks. This is serious culinary work resulting in awesome crispy goodness and flavor that will please your taste buds for a while after you finish. The addition of small containers of pickled radish to our takeout order was also a nice touch. A good way to temper the heat if it becomes too intense for you.
The employees on duty were fantastic, friendly and helpful to everyone despite being very busy. The facility is clean, bright, and comfortable. Plenty of free parking in front and beside the restaurant.
The best compliment I can offer is that I'll be back to try additional flavors as well as another round of the Spicy Galbi. ...
Read moreIt's not often, but every couple of months I go to this store. It's a local store with friendly, intimate service. However, the marinated chicken I picked up last week was not properly coated with sauce. I ordered the original and marinated at the same time, so I noticed the difference even more. The seasoning was not evenly applied and it looks like they just threw it on as if it was a bother. Anyone who receives chicken like this will never order seasoned chicken again. The kitchen seems to be less friendly than the person working in the hall.
[other day] I ordered food at the store, and a few minutes later, I heard them take a phone order for the exact same menu. They ended up giving my food to the phone customer first, and I had to wait another 10 minutes. It felt terrible to be skipped right in front of my eyes.
To make matters worse, the chicken had a fishy smell, and after eating it, I got sick and had to keep running to the bathroom. I will never visit this location again. They were...
Read moreI barely ever write reviews, its only if something is exceptionally good, or unacceptably bad. Unfortunately, in this case its the latter. I usually get the boneless wings from the Arlington Heights location, but it seems that they have discontinued their coleslaw, which I really enjoy. Given that was the case, I opted out for the Rolling Meadows location. Service was good, staff was nice, and order was ready in 15 minutes, which is all great. However, the size of the chicken wings was extremely small. It was mostly fried skin, with very little meat inside. I ate a whole $25 order and was still hungry. I am usually barely able to finish the same order from the Arlington Heights location, since their chicken wings are actually full of meat. With that said, in the future I will forego the coleslaw and just return back to the original location so that I can at least get my...
