The people there are amazing and all that talent in one room makes the craziest, chaotic yet friendly energy! Amazing! I’ve been coming here for a while, including the former ownership, but now in Madcats is really proven himself to be a very upscale music venue. I am an amateur photographer and love going there to take pictures using either my 35 mm cannon or my 35 mm Kodak retina from 1953. Tonight was an exceptional experience is ginger baker formerly of cream hosted an event that included his son playing percussion. The music was some of the best that I’ve experienced and I’m 57 years old and have been listening to rock ‘n’ roll since I was at least 13 Dan who’s one of the owners is an exceptional bartender and very easy and nice to talk with. I recommend this venue to anybody in the Northwest suburbs so they don’t have to drive all the way into Chicago and by the way it’s getting dangerous in Chicago so you can be happy that Palatine is a very quiet. Nice community with an excellent Police Department what I just discovered is that they actually have a pool table in the back room which I had no idea and I’ve been coming here for years. The folks running Madcats are doing things right. They've scheduled a solid variety of live music and other events like Bingo and Trivia nights. The food is a step above typical pub fare with consistent execution. Burgers are tasty and juicy without being obnoxious. The remoulade that accompanies the shrimp po-boy definitely evokes New Orleans. Their award winning chili is uniquely smokey with a delicate spiciness that doesn't completely overwhelm one's taste buds. Conversely the Buffalo chicken salad pairs the classic spiciness with fresh greens. The traditional french fries and onion rings are both excellent as well. On top of all that goodness they have a small but solid selection of beers on tap and in bottles along with a full bar.
