I frequent various McDonalds more than I should admit, and I have even been to locations globally (China, Europe, Mexico, etc.). Unfortunately, out of the many, many locations I have visited in the past this particular McDonalds gets one of my worst reviews. We often get orders that are completely wrong, or are missing an item. The food quality varies from "normal McDonalds" to "very bad, cold and/or old" food. The cleanliness inside has had issues too. Once I complained (twice) about blood in the bathroom of the Play Zone area for kids, and nobody ever came to clean it up. We typically now go out-of-our-way to visit a farther and less convenient McDonalds location.
Update: newly remodeled location. The dining area, kids play place and bathrooms all completely redone. Everything seems nice and clean now, with friendly staff but wait times were still a bit long. Increasing my rating from a 2star to a 3star based on a more positive recent experience. Hopefully their rating will continue to climb as I visit more often.
Update: kids bathroom faucet doesn’t work well, toilet gross w urine everywhere, no paper towels available.... I told an employee and the response “they should install a hand dryer” without actually replenishing the paper towels in the bathroom. Uhhhhh, thanks. Late snow fall outside and the kids area is freezing cold. Cold air coming out of ventilation system. No carbonated drinks available either. Weird.
Update: consistently horrible. Large fry half full and not even warm. Use google maps to find another location because this place is the worst.
Update: I keep thinking if I give this location another chance, it would improve. Nope. And, I am not one to give bad reviews often. If you look at my reviews, I give mostly high ratings. Today, it was both the food AND the service that was terrible. The woman cashier (may have been the manager) asked me what I ordered when I got to the window. She asked because they had both ordering lanes open. I repeated myself 3 times “the double burger”... she responds “fish sandwich?”.... and then she asks “you have the banana shake?” And that totally confused me because they don’t even have banana shakes (I don’t think)... so I respond “no, the vanilla shake” .... whereas she then gets angry at me and rudely says “that’s what I said” and gave a big sigh like I was a moron. Well yes, I must be a moron because I keep coming back to this location! And yes, cold fries again and they completely forgot my...
Read moreWhy McDonalds is only rates "ok". Let me count the ways: 1) their main line burgers are still the same tasteless 3/16" cardboard circles dipped in some puddle of beef & onion leavings and left under some lame heat lamp until an order comes through for a single, double, big mac, etc. 2) then, if you want some real meat, you may order from the "premium rotary platter" selections with choice of Angus, Bangus, Rarified-Beef & Chicken instead of fried, processed, press chicken nuggets...all packaged in new age eco-friendly recycled cardboard boxes printed in earthy water color inks, so we can all feel really neat about supporting Mickey-D's efforts to extend the priviledge of our business partnership and make us feel really good about separating us from our hard earned $3-9.00 base experience up to $10-16.00 plus competition with The likes of Burger-Fi...another tale 3) I'm not done - We now have entered the Kiosk phase of restaurant disengagement with the customer. Because touchscreen technology has been so highly refined letting our fingers "do the walking" or better "do the swiping" kiosks are popping up everywhere with each vendors eye-popping menu styles. Sorry, but I have no idea who their test demographic was, (Pardon, but I must insert shameless qualifier here: I'm a computer & telecom engineer of 50 years experience and have have the great fortune of studying and experienced 97 years of many communication systems and some 84 years of computer technology generations from 1935 IBM tabulation equipment to the most sophisticated Cisco, HP and DELL systems to name a few). I've worked. In design and in Field engineering identifying the nature of failures and submitted corrections. Vendors NEED to back off the EYE-CANDY, MENU OFFSET SHADOW Item-Image structure cramming up the menu pages. Who's idea was it to list only 2 or 3 burger items on one page when there is room for 6 or 8? HELLO MCDONALD'S CORPORATE...KISS PRINCIPLE ALWAYS COMES FIRST WITH THE PUBLIC.
KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid.
I know I'm going to take a LOT of HEAT on the next one, but I have to get this out there. Qualifier: I am a father & a grandfather. McDonald's has used the playroom gimmick for 40 year's. But I have to say, I'm just not keen having to pay exorbitant prices at this level when Glenview and lots of cities have lovely parks that we already pay heavy taxes for. McDonald's is...
Read moreI've lived in this community for over 20 years and I try to avold this place ad much as possible. Usually I drive out of my way to skip it. They dont deserve anyones money. Unfortunately I had to go tonight and as usual the service was even worse than the last time.
I pull up to the drive thru with nobody ahead of me. I order a $5 meal and told its a$6 meal. Fine. No problem with that. I pull up to the first window. Im told its $7.12 after tax. I hand the guy $7.25. He puts it in the drawer and starts talking to someone I cant see. I wait for my change. and wait. and wait. Then he looks at me and says "you need something" I say my change. He begins to argue that I gave him exact change. I told him no, but it was .13 cents so not to worry about it. I pull up to the next window.
Then I sat there as 1 woman cleaned the back, the guy at the cashier window kept taking orders of the cars stacking up behind me, and was promptly ignored for the next 10 mins. My food was hot so Im pretty sure nobody was making it until the 3 of them started making the spider man meme but this is common occurrence here. One time they made me wait while the crew unloaded the food truck delievery.
Dont waste your time at this one. The franchisees dont care about this community or hire people who...
