I was hoping i wouldn't have to leave my review on google but after repeated attempts at contacting a member of management, i've gotten no response back. We are BIG fans of Duffy's and only dine at this location because we've always had a good experience. however, our last visit which was Sunday June 8th we were with a sports group (banquet style) we had a bad experience. The food that arrived was mediocre (burger and fries) the burger had no toppings and when we asked about it, they had clearly forgotten and said they would be coming out on a separate plate. As unusual as it sounds for toppings to come out separately, I didn't care as long as they came out.... but they didn't, our food was getting cold and we decided to just eat it as is. There were no condiments put out on the table either. So a nice dry burger for our dinner. I ordered the 2 for 1 premium margaritas and about 20 minutes later the 1st arrived. (It's a banquet and it was hectic for the servers). Shortly after (30 minutes or so) I was looking for our server to get the 2nd drink as it was nearing the end of the banquet. Two different servers said they would look for our lady and well... she never did show up. I got distracted talking to other families and next thing I know the server is at the table and has my "check" for the 2 for 1 drinks!!! I haven't even gotten my 2nd drink and I have to pay. She informs me that they want to close us out so could i sign it. I said, I shouldn't be charged $16 for 1 margarita, that's ridiculous. I asked for it to be changed and what the cost of 1 drink would be. Nobody could give me a straight answer other than it's not possible. So I pay the bill (reluctantly) and leave 0 (zero) for the tip. They were all being given 20% gratuity from the banquet as that was built into each person cost and quite honestly, I had to look for her the entire evening from food issues to not getting my drink, so in my opinion she wasn't deserving of a tip (again!). To my surprise as I was in conversation with another parent, the same server interrupts us and says "you forgot to leave me a tip"..... I was shocked, not only was it inappropriate to mention in front of another customer but she should use her head and think, well there might just be a reason why there was no tip!
Everyone has bad days, I can imagine the banquet was stressful, but it's also what you are being paid to do. It doesn't hurt to smile, check back on your customers and provide the service they are paying for. I wasn't asking for anything over the top! I am a little confused as to why my email directly to the manager went ignored, and also the phone call with a message was never returned.
It may have just been a little $16 drink issue, but the lack of service combined with zero response has now turned us off Duffy's permanently. There are just too many other choices in the area. The only person in that entire location that goes above and beyond is a server Nate. If you choose to dine there, ask to be seated in his section. He is amazing.
Bye Duffy's, we...
Read moreAfter gathering my thoughts from last night’s train wreck of a dinner at Duffy’s I am able to write this review. The server that “was assigned” to our group was Sonya. How lucky were we?! Absolutely not more like please any other server. I see a lot of nice reviews about Sergio the server. Well unfortunately, we had Sonya. Her cold attitude towards each one of us as we sat down at the table to the end of the night was unacceptable.
I have never experienced a dinner as horrendous as this. I have been to many Duffy’s in Florida but this one is the worst. The goal was for everyone to take it easy and enjoy themselves. Instead we were stressed, upset, and talked down to. Don’t let me forget when Sonya was trying to figure out what everyone ordered at the end it felt like we were in trouble/detention with her at the head of the table. She suggested we just give her our credit cards and let her know how much to put on each one. Ha…yeah right. So she could “charge the wrong cards for the wrong food.” Not happening! It’s like they just hire anyone these days.
Please do a more thorough screening of your future employees. Customer service is key in the restaurant industry. Sonya lacks basic common sense and how to treat others. Sonya should not be allowed to work with customers. Incompetence and ignorance should never be accepted or tolerated by any company of their employees.
Many of us have worked in the restaurant industry or know someone who works in the restaurant industry. Therefore, we tried to work with Sonya and were extremely patient but she gave so much push back and had an attitude with each one of us. If Sonya would have just listened when many of the group voiced their concerns about how the bill would be split at the VERY BEGINNING before even ordering anything then we would have not had to sit there until almost 10pm.
Sonya also claimed that she had been a server for a long time. That most certainly did not help her case. You think she would use common sense and “her so called experience” to organize a big party before she started taking orders. Also, we did not switch seats. Everyone was sitting in the SAME seat as when we all sat down at 6:30pm last night.
Do yourself a favor and the headache by just going to the Jersey Mike’s or Chipotle nearby. You will feel a lot happier and may even get to go home at a decent hour. The almost 4 hour dinner that we encountered can be avoided. AVOID this Duffy’s at all cost otherwise you may end up with Sonya as...
Read moreAs our group sat down, we were greeted by Sonya (could have misspelled her name). After ordering drinks, we waited for about 25 minutes to get them. By the way, it wasn't busy on Sunday at 630pm July 13th. I tried to order a miami vice which she told me they cant make that since its a frozen drink.....so i told her well you sell pina colda and daquiri which are frozen and a miami vice is just those 2 combined in one cup......so she came back and said the bartenders dont mix them........ok w.e so I got water at that point. Once we started to order our food, my uncle mentioned we were on separate checks, and she said "oh we will figure that out after I get all the orders." So, she knew we were separate checks. My food came out wrong, as did a few others. I understand kitchen staff can make mistakes or the servers it happens, but it was the attitude and rudeness my group and I didn't like. She also forgot the refills we ordered. As we come to the end of the night, we asked for our checks..........she came back with everyone on one check saying it's easier for her!!!! We mentioned again that it's easier for the customers for separate checks....she insisted we keep it together and just give her all our cards and tell her what we want to pay on each. This makes it harder actually.......so we told her to separate it. She got an attitude about doing that, and it's hard for her to do that, etc. Either A u weren't trained how to do that or B ur lazy and just dont want to do it. She kept messing up everyone's checks repeatedly. She finally got 3 right, and they got to pay while the rest of us had to wait 45 minutes!!!!! I honestly left to go grocery shop next door to Publix and came back, and my husband still didn't have our check. The waitress Sonya continued to have an attitude with us saying "well u should have just paid all together, and yall wouldn't still be here"......ha I'm sorry what did u just say to us????? She was so rude!!!! Eventually, a manager finally came to help. Sonya disappeared, and we never saw her. The manager wasn't even aware of our situation, so he tried to help. I did tell him to give me all of the tabs that were open, and I'd organize it for him. So he gave me a pen and I helped. After the 2nd time, he got our checks right, and we got to pay finally. I will never go back to that location, Sonya was absolutely horrible...
