I tried emailing the restaurant directly but both email addresses posted on their website bounced back. My intent was for constructive criticism as I had a good lunch experience there but had never been there for dinner. Since there is no other option to contact them, I am posting this review which I would give zero stars if I could:
My boyfriend and I went to your restaurant for dinner on January 2nd to celebrate our two year anniversary. We looked for a restaurant that would seat us in under 30 minutes and had not been successful until we found your restaurant. We were very excited because you have a 4 and a half star rating and could seat us with no wait time. However, when we arrived, there was no one to seat us. We walked through the restaurant to the outdoor patio where there was still no one to seat us. We asked a waitress if we could be seated and she said to just sit wherever, but, although there were only two tables occupied by other customers, there were no other tables that had been set and cleaned. We sat at one even though it did not have a tablecloth on it and were told by a waitress that we needed to move to another table(?), she would be our server for the evening. This was not the case. The entire evening, we were passed back and forth between two different servers, even though there were only two other occupied tables outside, and one inside. Your menu has not one single pasta dish and has hardly any options for those who do not eat beef. I expected to find multiple fish, pasta, and chicken dishes on your menu, especially considering that your name is Italian. I ordered the Gorgonzola salad and my boyfriend ordered the chicken dish with the prosciutto, spinach, and mashed potatoes. We spent about an hour waiting for our food, even though there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. When it finally arrived, my nearly $15 salad had almost nothing on it. It was lettuce with nuts. My boyfriend’s meal was almost as bad. It was a ridiculously small portion, especially considering the price, and it was very disappointing in taste as well. However, he ate it (although he left the spinach as it was inedible) since we were very hungry after waiting over an hour for our food. Our servers were both kind and well intentioned, but the service time was awful. Also, you should consider adding lots of shrubbery and music to your outdoor seating area. An outdoor seating area is designed to be scenic and relaxing. However, yours is right on PGA boulevard, providing the opposite of a scenic, aesthetically pleasing dining experience. It is extremely loud and smells like fumes from the cars passing by. If you were to place large plants outside and add some jazz or classical music to provide ambience, this would prevent your diners from having to see and hear a busy road as they eat. I also recommend putting actual chairs outside instead of using mismatched red plastic chairs, reminiscent of a preschooler’s crafting area. At the end of the evening, we were brought free cookies to compensate for the wait time, although these were stale. After paying the tab, we went to another restaurant since all I had eaten was some lettuce and my boyfriend’s portion, the part that was mediocre -- was hardly filling. At the second restaurant, we received large portions of delicious food from an extensive menu, and our bill was ten dollars less than it was at your restaurant. I have never left a negative review for a restaurant, nor do I email the owners. But this night was supposed to be a special evening for us and we were very disappointed by our experience at your restaurant. I hope you view this email as helpful, critical as it may be, as with some changes, your dinner experience...
Read moreI'm writing this review to inform management, owner, & customers of a recent experience I've had at your restaurant.
I am in an interracial relationship & we are fellow residents of Palm Beach County. My boyfriend and I have enjoyed eating here numerous times.
On Monday, 08/04/2025, we came by to grab brunch. When asked what we would like to drink, I ordered a coffee & my boyfriend ordered a mimosa. He was asked to present his ID & after studying, the waitress said that there was a concern with the ID & that she would be unable to serve us. Upon questioning, she proceeded to tell us that she is not able to disclose the reasoning... She asked if she could check with her manager...
My boyfriend's license was taken to back of house for at least 10 minutes, (while people were coming in to dine & waiting to be served & getting frustrated because every single employee was in the back, not visible.)
Finally, the waitress comes back to our table with the manager & sits down with us & says that his birth year should've been included on the license number, therefore, they are unable to serve us. She told us how every employee checked their own licenses to compare. This made us very uncomfortable as they were gone with his ID for so long that obviously shows personal, sensitive, information. Meanwhile, we didn't get a coffee or even a glass of water.
He was asked if he had another form of identification, which we didn't have on us at the time. Frankly, even if we did, we would not have stayed.
After leaving, we did a quick Google search, which showed: "No, the birth year is no longer encoded into Florida driver's license numbers. Florida has updated its driver's license and ID card security and now uses randomly generated numbers instead of encoding personal information like birth year into the ID number, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles."
It saddens me to say that we will never come back. Having management sit down with us & talk to us like we were in trouble, or perhaps assuming we had fake identification, while other customers watched; was extremely humiliating. We felt belittled. I cannot rule out that this was an act of racism.
I hope this matter is properly addressed as I've tried emailing with no response. I hope that no other customers would have to ever experience...
Read moreI am willing to give this cafe another try to up my rating. However, my first and only visit was disappointing.
Ambiance/Vibe Pros: Nice atmosphere/decor, not too loud, comfortable chairs
Cons: Upon arrival the hostess was MIA for at least 10 min and many other employees looked at our party of 3, walked by, and didn't acknowledge us. Even as four more parties walked in, no one from the staff took initiative to seat anyone and the hostess was still MIA. There were at least two open unbussed tables inside. A server finally walked up and said the hostess will be with you in a moment. Yet, many moments passed before we were finally seated.
Food Pros: Scone (blueberry lemon), flavor of open face focaccia caprese sandwich, healthy menu options
Cons: My fault, I know, but "open face" was at the very end of the food item description for both items we ordered. Under the hot pressed panini menu section, there was the focaccia caprese sandwich. so all the items we ordered were not as expected. Because it was the last descriptor It was a surprise to receive a hot pressed panini that was not hot nor pressed. The tomato and cheese were cold, sliced thick, and stacked at an odd angle on the bread, impossible to eat wi th out a knife and fork. Flavor was good, tho. Second item was the basalmic beni bowl. Under the bowls menu section. It was not flavorful, it was not a bowl, and there was no goat cheese on the item. It was served on a hamburger bun mistakenly called a brioche. It was not. The bread was thick and barely toasted. It had no flavor. Beets were so tiny and diced you could not taste them and barely noticed them. Same with the asparagus. Hugely disappointing food item. First coffee cup was dirty and had some very visible white milky looking soap scumish residue around the edge. Noticed before I took a sip, thank goodness.
Service Pros: Good. Polite. Cons: Overcharged us but fixed it before bringing the cc back. So the time in between giving her the card and getting it back was lengthy without explanation until after the fact. Didn't seem to be well managed based on overall dining floor observations. Staff seems frantic at times, lackadaisical at others. No team work (in the front of the house at least.)
I will give it another try, but as I said,...
