SUMMARY: I visited this small, mom and pop, taco restaurant on 9.25.25 at the recommendation of the shuttle driver from the close-by Double Tree Hotel, where I was staying. He warned me that it was pricey but the food was good, according to other guests. So I decided to give it a try. You order inside, pay, given a table # and sit down in the few outside tables, which are covered, surrounding the restaurant until your meal is brought out. I ordered a beef burrito with no beverage. It came with taco chips. Total $17 and change. You can serve yourself water flavored with orange slices near the tables at no cost. This was a nice touch given that it was 90 degrees outside and hot and humid. Electricity went out for like 5-7 minutes probably due to thunder and lightening happening outside.
Food: The burrito was really filled and tasted fine. The chips were greasy. Way too greasy for my taste. I did not try other things on the menu. I did see that they had homemade flan, which I like, and which looked delicious, but didn't have any because I was too full. I only finished 1/2 of the burrito and I could not eat any of the chips.
Menu: a good variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, flautas, gorditas, tamales, sides, desserts, beer, wine, sodas, Jarritos, and aguas frescas.
Pros: tasty food. Good variety of food choices. Good portions. Self-served water with orange slices available to everybody.
Cons: pricey. Chips were greasy. I could not eat them. And I got an upset stomach afterwards. Not many tables to sit at to get or wait for your food.
Would I re-visit? Maybe. To try their tacos. I'll make sure not to have the chips.

Read moreI've been to Taco Chula a couple times now, with very high expectations due to all these amazing reviews but it's been such a huge letdown. To begin counter staff could be a lot more polite and actually show interest in their job, the young man that took my order seemed in very much dislike of his job. What seemed to be the manager; I got very two-faced vibes from him, he's always here when I come I overheard him speaking to his staff and it's not something to be fond of. That by itself made me want to get up and leave. As for the food I ordered: small side of chips and guacamole, very in dislike with the guacamole, it tasted like they just mashed avocados and put it in the cup. I also got a Grilled Steak quesadilla which was like drinking a bucket of grease and oil that I had to throw away alongside with the guacamole and chips. After this horrible experience I still gave the churros a shot which was another complete letdown. The churros tasted frozen like, the only thing that made up for them was the Dulce De Leche which was delicious. I've saved the worst for last; The Horchata Rice Milk Drink, was the worst thing I've ever drank in my whole life. It was like sandpaper going down my throat. It's such a thick disappointment. In conclusion, I'm sorry Taco Chula but due to this horrible experience I took the time to write this so other people in search of a great meal don't come here!! I would've rather sat down at Dunkin' Donuts and had a...
Read moreThis was my 3rd or 4th time trying this place and I'm done giving it chances, I don't know what all the hype is about. First of all it's extremely overpriced in my opinion, $17 for a burrito with a little side of tortilla chips is just outrageous. But the first time I got the burrito with a side of crema and it was great so I went back again and noticed I didn't get the side of crema, so I asked for it and they said "you have to pay extra for that it doesn't come with it" with an attitude, and I was like oh ok I didn't know cuz they gave it to me the first time but that's fine I'll just ask for it next time and pay extra. So this most recent time I went and I ordered the burrito, ordered the side of crema that I paid extra for idc about that bc I wanted it, and then when I got home and ordered my takeout order the crema wasn't in the bag. Like I know I only paid a small fee extra for it but it's besides the point. I paid for it, I didn't get it, I tipped them, I only ordered that burrito because for me personally I need something like sour cream to go with it or I don't enjoy it as much. And to pay a heaping $17-$18 (with that sauce) for a BURRITO and I didn't even get my sauce I'm like you know what, not giving them my business anymore when I can go to any other local Mexican restaurants and pay that same exact price for an entire full plate of food that could...
