The quality of the food is good and is well prepared. The restaurant seems clean. The service may be good, but only if you're a regular, apparently. Because the servers spend more time talking with a couple of "select" customers, than taking care of the other 90% of the customers. The coffee is good, that is IF you can get a refill. If you do get a refill, the servers doll out the cream like it's gold. I had to ask for my second refill and of course the server didn't even give me my "quota" of 3 creams! My biggest complaint is that the prices are outrageous and forget about actually getting pancakes as a side with any non-pancake breakfast, because a side of their "cheapest" pancakes is nearly an additional$10.00! This is supposed to be a PANCAKE rest!! At least at IHOP, the pancakes are usually included with any breakfast. In fact, at IHOP, my entire breakfast with a small pot of coffee, is about$10.00, if I get any of the breakfast specials, and NOT $22.02 (plus $5.00 tip) for 2 eggs, corn beef hash and potatoes (if I had substituted the home fries for hash browns, it would have been an additional upcharge of about $1.65), with 2 cups of coffee!! Also, every substitution (although the choice of substitutions is very limited) has a high "upcharge", and the servers don't even tell you about the upcharge!! Their customers are expected to find and read the small print on their menu. And there's a great deal of small fine print through out their the menu. Bottom line, this is my second time at this "Original Pancake House", because although my first experience a couple of months ago was just as disappointing, I wanted to give them another chance. It's 8:00 am on a Saturday, and no wonder this place...
Read morei'm not a complainer but i have to say I am not happy with the service there. I've being there a good amount of times usually with clients or family and friends. but to make this short! the last time I was there by myself this time, I made my usual order which was an egg-white Greek omelette, the waitress took my order and stated that it would take twenty minutes which I told her I already knew, and I reminded her that I specifically wanted egg whites which she acknowledged. about thirty minutes or more later and the place was definitely not crowded!! she brought a regular omelette to me i said this is not an egg-white omelette. she looked at it and said okay ill go check, she took it with her and after a few minutes she returned and said it was not but the cook would have it ready for me as soon as possible. Another fifteen minutes went by and not once did she asked me if i would like a coffee refill! i had to ask another waitress that was passing by for the refill! when she finally brought out the omelette, she said " ho we have to charge you extra for the egg white but on the receipt it will come up as something else. she then apologize and said it was her fault as she did not tell the cook that it was an egg-white omelette!! at that time, i was pissed. I asked her for a to-go box , paid for the order and left. i still have a copy of the receipt with the server name the date and transaction. they wont be...
Read moreWe visited the location in Palm Beach, but this restaurant has more locations around the United States.
Parking: This location has its own parking.
Service: It was great service. The staff explains the menu very well and she was attentive to everything we needed.
Food quality: It is an American breakfast restaurant. The food is great, and the portions are large. If you want to try an American breakfast this is a great place to visit. We ordered an apple pancake because is one of the specialties of the house (looks like a cake but it is a pancake oven baked with fresh granny smith apples and pure Sinkiang cinnamon glaze), this plate takes around 20 minutes to be ready, but believe it is worth. It is very sweet so probably you want to eat it with something else lees sweeter. We also got 3 pancakes with bananas (it is a normal American pancake) and Blintz (it is 3 pancakes filled with cream cheese and topped with strawberry).
Price: Great prices for the quality and the portions of the food. We ordered 3 courses, and 2 coffee for $40 plus tip. We couldn't finish eating everything. It was a lot of food.
Atmosphere: Normal, the decoration of the restaurant has nothing special. Looks like an old restaurant.
Recommendation: The coffee here is standard; I consider it expensive for the quality ($ 2.69). If you don't eat much you can...
