I recently had the pleasure of dining at Athena Gyro and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for places that offer a variety of delicious and satisfying options, and this place did not disappoint.

I opted for the vegetarian platter, and it was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The platter was beautifully presented, featuring a vibrant assortment of fresh, flavorful items. The soy curls were crispy and perfectly seasoned, the dolmades were tender and bursting with savory goodness, and the spanakopita was crispy and flavorful. The hummus and tzatziki were creamy and rich, providing the perfect accompaniments to the warm, fluffy pita bread. Every bite was a delightful journey through the rich flavors of Greece.

Beyond the outstanding food, what truly set Athena Gyro apart was the impeccable service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering insightful recommendations and checking in regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing a top-notch dining experience did not go unnoticed.

Overall, Athena Gyro exceeded my expectations in every way. The vegetarian platter was a highlight, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to quality and authenticity. Coupled with the outstanding service, it made for a memorable dining experience that I will surely be recommending to friends and family. If you're looking for delicious Greek cuisine served with a side of exceptional hospitality, Athena Gyro is the...

My daughter and I came into this restaurant for the first time on Tuesday August 9th about 4:46. Leslie was the cashier We ordered dinner spent over $43 .Everything was great! the service was great the portions were great the food was awesome. We took it to go back to our hotel. This afternoon August 11th we went back for lunch. Cashier was Roxanna. It was 1:10 p.m. She was horrible ! She was rude she had an attitude we asked her to change an order that she'd already run through and she rolled her eyes at us. We wanted the lunch special with the soda to go but we ordered off the regular menu in error. Again we spent 31.52 before I gave her a tip which I cut down due to her attitude and shouldn't have given her at all.. she was nasty. All she would have had to have done was given my daughter a soda with her lunch that we spent more than the lunch special on. I ordered the $18 chicken kabob on top of that. The food was subpar. My salad tasted like it had rancid dressing on it, the chicken didn't taste like real chicken . The whole meal was terrible. Then I asked Roxanna where there was a McDonald's nearby so my daughter can get something to drink and she tells me where the damn AMPM was.. Really! I think she did it on purpose. We'll never come back here if we visit Palm desert again. They won an award? Must have...

Man I don't know why I haven't made a review for here yet! I started eating here about 4 years ago! This place is AMAZING. Hands down the best. When I had moved up to Oregon 2 years ago this place was up at the top of my list of what I was going to miss the most. We've since moved to North Carolina and we tried looking for another good Greek place since leaving CA and we haven't been able to find anything that even comes close to here. What I used to get was the lamb gryo plate with the avgolemono soup (instead of the salad that comes with it), their fresh lemonade (literally the best lemonade I've personally ever had), and the firefita with pita bread. Ooooh man can't get better than that! All the other Greek places serve half way decent gyros with fries and soda... Not bad in of its self... But when having this place in mind its disappointing lol. My husband and I visited last year and made sure we stopped by here! We will again on our next visit! I really miss this place, especially now that Im pregnant and REALLY craving their food... So I highly recommend giving this...

Got here by chance and I am glad I tried them out. Place looks small outside but their ceiling is very high inside so it seems bigger. I got the Gyro plate, baklava and spanakopita. The Gyro plate had a huge amount of Greek salad which tasted amazing and the Gyro was pretty big. It was really tasty and seasoned just right. You can also add more meat for just 2 dollars. The spanakopita was crunchy and chewy. The spinach inside was great. I loved this dish. The pricing of food was affordable and felt like I got my money's worth. They also have a lunch special until 3pm, which is great Place is clean and has nice interior with some Greek influence. Although I think they need a better ait filtration coz you can smell all the herbs and spices they're cooking from your table. A decent amount of tables inside but the space feels a bit tight. They also have some tables for outside dining. Parking is a lot. Although it can get busy. I'll definitely come back here whenever I visit Palm Springs

We were looking for Greek while in the Palm Springs area and Athena Gyro popped up close to the store we were heading for, so we decided to give it a try. Our GPS took us to the back of the building, but we found the front and went in to get seated. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We both had Gyro Platters, my wife's was Chicken and mine was Lamb/Beef. The meals came with a nice soup to start. The platters were well made, but there was little garlic or bite to the food. We figured the food was made more bland for the locals, but wish we would have known. Everything was still good and well made, just more bland than we like our Greek.

The food was really good and the service was friendly! Always had a drink, and we weren't hovered over or rushed! Also you could smell the restaurant from the parking lot and I always take that as a good sign. This will be a main food spot for us when we visit the area! I recommened the gyro meat in whatever vessel you chose. My "gyro nacho fries" were perfect for me. Rice is good, but if you don't want like very flavorful rice and you like it on the plain side, I'd get maybe the fries or something. If you like it packed with flavor def worth getting rice.
