Dinner and Breakfast Review. BREAKFAST: My partner and I visited the restaurant in the morning to figure out whether this is a place we wanted to go to with companions in the evening. We had the Crepes French and Mexican. Personally I didn't care much for the crepe French, I found it lacking in favor. I tried my partners crepe Mexican, which was very good and I wished I ordered that one. The coffee was good. Regardless, we enjoyed our time so much we made reservations for supper. DINNER As a group of four we decided to make reservations at the restaurant prior to going to see Frankie Valli over at the Show located in Agua Caliente Casino resort. We were seated on the patio which is very nice. They have many heaters to keep the winter chill out. I had the Osso Bucco, others had: Beef Stroganoff (x2) and Sole with Lobster. The meals were delicious. None of us had room for dessert. With the exception of the Sole, all meals were served on pasta. At times we found it a bit noisy but people were enjoying themselves. They have dinner tables on the patio around the side and away from the larger patio area which is quieter. Unfortunately, our companions arrived earlier and were seated there but they had not turned on the heaters and they asked to be moved due to the chill. Ironically, we did not know they had arrived and had moved seats, so we were sitting in that area initially, they had put the heaters on, and we found it quite pleasant and had to turn the heaters down. Regardless we finally connected with our companions in the other area and had a very delightful pre-show evening. Staff eye pleasant and efficient. So whether you want to go to Si Bon for breakfast or for supper, I don't think you will be...
Read moreLast night I specifically picked out Si Bon for my birthday dinner. Not sure I want to go back for a regular meal, definitely not for a special occasion. I ordered the Lobster Chopped Salad, I asked what was in it and was told Romaine, Scallions, tomatoes and avocado with Lots of Lobster. I ordered it, my boyfriend had the Linguini Alfredo with chicken. He liked his! When I was eating mine I noticed that a piece of “lobster” wasn’t cleaned, I pulled out the intestinal track put it on my plate and noticed it was attached to shrimp! My boyfriend who doesn’t eat seafood said Lobsters don’t have that intentional track, Shrimp do! I started looking closely at the “Lobster” meat and noticed it was at least 1/3 shrimp! If you have the balls to charge $29 for a Lobster Salad, and tell people it’s full of lobster…you should also tell them you are stretching out the protein with Shrimp. ESPECIALLY when asked! And as for dessert, I ordered a Vanilla Crème Brûlée, I was warned that getting it to-go meant it wasn’t going to be pretty! I’m totally fine with that. And understand!!! They brought it to me and the entire top was BURNT! As a restaurant that knows how to do this on a regular basis - to send me home with that is unacceptable! It was beyond burnt, I tasted it and it was acrid! Fortunately, I knew enough to throw out all the charred sugar so that it didn’t “melt” when I put the dessert in the fridge overnight. I’d strongly suggest thinking twice about this restaurant!! What made matters worse was that the manager/owner was there at the time. I recognized her! Your QC is really off!!! Good Luck in the future, you are...
Read moreLovely atmosphere and good service. However our vegetarian entree of Mediterranean vegetables definitely needs work. It's listed this way on the menu. Entrées: *Served with potatoes and fresh vegetables. Grilled Mediterranean Vegetables (GF, V, VG) $25.00 With chimichurri salsa | Add Vegan Pasta +$3.00 Ours had zero potatoes, but included a large slab of rubbery portobello mushroom. It also included some brownish unidentifiable sliced object that was just mushy (like a super overcooked squash). The texture was gross. There were a few grilled zucchini pieces and carrots that were very good and a pesto like dressing over all. The dish was very oily even though the flavor and texture of the two vegetables was good. Overall a miss and no explanation as to why there were no potatoes at all. I don't recall seeing the added note about the possibility of adding pasta on the written menu, but thinking there would be potatoes, we probably would have passed on that. If there had been potatoes as stated in the menu, we would have not bothered to write a review and just skipped this place in the future even with the gross mushy slice of something and rubber portobello. There definitely should be more vegetables for this oversized price. And forget portobellos unless you can cut them enough to get them crispy. Has the chef ever actually tasted that?...
