Country Club Cafe — Restaurant in Rancho Mirage

I love the three star rating. I think with a three star rating you can like and enjoy a place, but it has room to grow. The food is average along with the price. There are no bells and whistles and you almost always get what you order. Staff is nice, but not extremely friendly. I feel since the pandemic that most places customer service went downhill. The place falls into the category of a Goodies type. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. We go there and will likely continue to go there. My pet peeve is.... I order the low calorie chicken plate; its like $17.00. Comes with three grilled chicken straps, cottage cheese, pita bread, small salad, boiled egg and fruit. Twice now they brought it to me without fruit. Once they said oh we are out. Ok so shouldn't I've been told before?? Or discount?? The second time they had forget the fruit and brought me some after I asked about it. I just feel like for these new inflated prices (everywhere) things should be consistent and correct. I want what I order...

Update 2022/10/24: Same great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time of the day. Freshly cooked for you. Great diner atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Great service. Clean. As before, highly recommended.

Update 2022/08/25: Everything is the same as always. Lots of people there for late breakfast or early lunch. Food was good. Service and staff were very good. Still highly recommended.

Nice small diner that's close to home. I've been there many times and the service is consistently good and the food is hot and fresh. Today I had the Western Burger (a homemade version of Carl's Western Bacon Cheeseburger) with fries and a drink. It was very good and the cost was almost the same as Carl's. The place is roomy and clean. The kitchen is in clear view from the counter and is organized and clean. Plenty of parking all around. I’ve been here twice in the past 10 days. It’s always busy and very close to my residence. Staff are friendly and good service. Menu has many options from breakfast to dinner plates. The price here is the question. On both occasions I ordered sandwiches. $14.99 and up. However it just didn’t impress. Both sandwiches had stale buns. Meat was overcooked. One the two orders was carry out and when I got home and unwrapped the sandwich I realized the top bun had been burnt to a black crisp. The breaded chicken was dried out and over cooked. I threw out the bun and tried to eat the chicken but ended up just tossing it in the garbage.
