Cute Greek restaurant. I am attracted to Greek restaurants because I grew up going to Greektown restaurants in Chicago. Santorini’s menu is inviting but most of the food lacks flavor. I ordered a chicken gyro sandwich with Greek salad and the Avgolemono soup. The soup was the best dish I had. The Avgolemono soup was flavored well with lemon and was very good. What would have made it better was to have egg yolk tempered in to thicken it and be in the true tradition of the dish. The chicken had no flavor as well as the tzatziki sauce. I couldn’t taste any garlic or oregano. The tzatziki didn’t even have the flavor of cucumber. The salad was a disappointment. It also lacked flavor. Pitted black olives are not whole Kalamata olives which I have always seen served in Greek salads. The salad also was lacking in feta cheese. One big chunk of feta to break up as you eat the salad is much better than a light dusting of finely crumbled feta. I can’t say the food was bad, it just needs to be more flavorful! Greek food can...
Read moreWords can not even describe the quality of the gyro found in this place. It made me feel as if I was transported back to Greece with the first bite. Finding a gyro like this is practically impossible in California, and I have tried over 20 places. If you happen to be in the Coachella Valley and are looking for authentic, extremely high quality, and picturesque food, I would recommend this place over any other place I have been to in all of California. On top of the outstanding food quality, the owner is the most honorable man. Coming from a Greek lineage, he described to me the dream of opening an authentic gyro place in America and continuing to make his lineage proud with presenting a superb standard of his authentic food. I think he not only achieved this goal, but I can see this restaurant becoming extremely renowned in the future. Ditch Nick the Greek, this is next in America. I can not wait until...
Read moreMy first time at this store-front restaurant. Small, clean, pleasantly decorated in the colors of the Greek flag, with 8 tables and comfortable chairs. Situated in a corner of an attractive shopping plaza, the parking was plentiful and easy. I ordered my go-to Mediterranean dish: chicken kebabs. While it took a little longer than expected for the food to arrive, it was worth the wait. The chicken was lightly marinated and tender—5 white meat chunks on both skewers. The accompanying Greek side-salad was freshly made and served with warm pita bread, pieces if roasted tomato and onion, a light lemon dressing, hummus, and creamy tzatziki souse. My wife and I had a very nice experience—good first impression....
