Los Pepes Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Palm Desert

To start off, a Mexican restaurant with no "aguas frescas" is not a Mexican restaurant..i asked for an horchata and even the waitress said it was embarrassing that they don't have any Mexican drinks, I ordered their caldo de albóndigas and they had no Mexican flavor and were more like American meatballs that you find in spaghetti.... the soup came with a side of rice and it was the size of a plate of rice that I would give to my 2 year old niece. The waitress attending us was great but the food wasn't unfortunately. I forgot what my parents ordered but they too weren't satisfied with it. The portions are small and over priced. I've been eating authentic Mexican food all my life and there really isn't much authenticity in this restaurant. To begin with they really should introduce aguas fresca...

We have eaten here a few times and it is usually excellent. The last visit however was disappointing. Our waiter took forever to come over after we were seated and food took almost an hour. When we got it they were out of several things (including rice??) but were not offered substitutions or any compensation. Some of the food was cold and two orders were wrong. Our waters were never refilled and the waiter largely ignored us. It was very busy that night, but in Palm Springs in peak season that should...

Dinner with 3 other ladies and waited 45 minutes for food. Meanwhile, we had a few extra tiny dishes of salsa to go with the chips. When the bill came, we were charged for the extra salsa....$3.00. They Should have eaten the cost since we waited so long for food. Salsa at every other mex restaurant has been free and constantly flowing.....not this place. If you eat here, easy...
