Las Carretas Taco Shop — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Weird experience. Business hour 6am-10pm. Got there 6:15 am for my son’s breakfast before his golf tournament but door was locked. Found a lady counting money for cash register so wait a couple of minutes in front of door. Seemed like she didn’t recognize me waiting even she was done counting so knocked on but being ignored. Probably knocking sound couldn’t reached her. Wiggling the door for letting her know finally got her eyes on me but she turned around right away and she did do something else. Felt like being ignored again. Knocked again and she opened the door. Time was 6:19 am. I said good morning but she gave me a mad look and say “Are you OK?” I said yes I am good. Haw are you this morning? Then she said “ Not good with you”. I asked her why she was not good with me but she just cut my question and said what do you want? I was kind of upset for her attitude but just ordered breakfast burrito and said I don’t understand why she got mad and showed attitude to me. She ignored my question again and said she would call police. I said I don’t mind you call police but FOR WHAT? Only possible reason she got mad was probably either I knocked instead of just waiting or she already upset for some reason. It would be nice if she or someone let the customer know they need more time to open instead blaming on customer knocked the door. Just canceled my order and went to Denny’s. Lady there was super nice so left $10 tip for $16 to go breakfast. Watch out that scary lady when...

I just spent 28 dollars on 10 tacos. 2.25 each taco plus 50 cents each taco if you want grilled onions on it. Way too expensive in my opinion. I ordered carne asada (beef) and pollo asado (chicken). The carne asada tasted old and lacked flavor, DREADFUL in my opinion. The chicken was good... although I would've preferred flour tortillas, I opted not to because it would've been a dollar extra on top of the 2.25 each. For what the tacos tasted like... they deserve to be 75 cents each. Stay away from this establishment if possible. I only stopped here because I was in a rush and craving tacos that weren't from a fast food establishment. Never will I come back... Pronto food market down the street is a better option if you're in the area. If you're going to pay 30 bucks for an Authentic Mexican meal... you're better off going to Mexicali Cafe about 10 minutes from this place or even Las Casitas which is down...

So I frequently go here to have lunch and I typically get the Carnitas burrito with no guacamole. I have asked what does it come with they tell me rice beans and guac and Carnitas well I asked for no guacamole and I only get Carnitas and guac in my Carnitas burrito. This is the second time that my order came out incorrectly so I called and was informed by Gabby that you have to ask for rice and beans and if you want a credit you have to bring back the burrito rather than apologizing. The customer service needs to improve and be more consistent my last order I asked for no guac and they put Carnitas and a handful of onions very disappointing. If the owner sees this my ticket number is 158 and I ordered from 67555 Highway 111 suit A102 in Cathedral city...
