We booked three nights, stayed only two. It was a special birthday weekend for my wife. We booked Comfort Suites because we thought it was top end for Choice Hotels. It was one of our worst experiences in traveling for more than 60 years.||To start with, the breakfast was terrible. There never was a complete breakfast. Eggs but out of bacon. The next day, just the opposite. Sugar free syrup for a waffle was like water. Tried cereal - no milk, just two empty containers. When I finally found someone to get the milk,it took forever for him to do it. No bread for toast, except for two pieces of stale bread in the tray.||The worst part was the heating and air conditioning unit. We are both in our mid 80s and like it warmer than most. Set the AC for 75 and it kept reverting back to somewhere between 67 or 72. After the first night of getting up frequently to either turn the unit on or off ,manually to try to maintain a comfortable (their maintenance person was off that day and they had no one else to fix it) temperature, we finally decided to end our stay after two nights. Since we had used some reward points for a better room rate, the front desk person said we had to call Choice to get it changed and refunded. I called Choice and was told they would not refund the last, unused night money, but would refund the rewards.||Big deal. After this experience, I wouldn’t stay in a choice hotel again if it was free.||Other minor nuisances were there was only one small towel bar near the sink. None for the tub. No guide for the television, you just had to surf channels in hopes of finding something worthwhile.||We tried to stick it out for the third night since we couldn’t get a refund but common sense prevailed and we went home after two nights. The clerk offered us a different room but odds were it would be the same and then there was the lousy breakfast. Home now in a comfortable temperature and looking forward to a breakfast tomorrow that won’t remind me of the bivouac meals that I had in the service.||I’ve been traveling for over 60 years and can’t remember a worse experience. And $527 plus reward points for three...
Read moreI would first like to say that my overall stay was pleasant. The gentleman that checked me in late at night was great and since it was my second stay at this location, I remembered his friendly and professional demeanor. The following morning was the complete opposite, staff wise. I contacted the front desk at roughly 10 am and requested a late check-out, something the gentleman that checked me in reminded me that I was entitled to as a Gold Elite Member. The woman I spoke to, Ginny, said she could give me a late check out of 12 noon, 1 hour later than the normal check-out time. Generally, choice hotels provide me with a two hour extension, but I did not argue. At 12:03pm, I was zipping my luggage and starting to leave the room, when the phone rang. It was the same woman, Ginny, that gave me a 12 noon check-out. She "called to see if I was checking out or not" and claimed that "the housekeeper wants to know". Now, I understand the need to tidy up rooms for the next guest, but calling at 12:03pm, when I had been granted a 12 noon check out, and trying to blame it on the housekeeper is rather rude, unprofessional and petty. I could understand if it were 12:30, but 12:03? When I came to the front desk, the same woman, Ginny, spoke to me as if I had been lost and she was trying to find me, as she said, "Oh there you are!". I proceeded to explain to her the unprofessional nature and pettiness of her phone call. I felt disrespected as a guest, who occupied one of the biggest and most expensive rooms in the hotel (the 2 room King Suite) and I informed her that I would report this matter. I asked for her name and the name of the housekeeper she claimed needed to know whether I was checking out or not. She only provided her name, Ginny, but said it was not necessary to give the housekeepers name. Instead of apologizing for her behavior and acknowledging the disrespect, this woman said nothing to atone for the situation. I strongly believe this employee needs training in customer service and I will not continue to patronize this establishment or other Choice Hotel locations until I receive a direct and proper apology for...
Read moreStarting from check in (my sincerest apologies I can't remember the kind gentlemen that checked in my family and I, also I can't find my receipt to see if its on there. But he was working the front desk yesterday 4/1 from 3ish to 8pm was the last time I was in the lobby and saw him), he greeted me warmly and immediately made me feel welcome! Additionally, he helped me without any annoyance to address the deadbolt issue with the room I was assigned at check in. The room was immaculate, very clean, no trash left behind from previous guests, and it smelled clean inside! I loved the softness of the bedding, comfortableness of the beds, and generous amount of towels/hygiene items provided to guests. Not to mention, the sofa sectional was perfect for my family, it made the room much larger than other hotels! The gentleman in the morning overseeing the guest breakfast area was amazing! (sorry I didn't catch his name either). He was on top of cleaning the tables down when guests finished, and even was social and courteous to all guests. He really made the breakfast a positive experience! Every staff member I came into contact with, even if just passing in the halls were very polite. The only recommendation I'd give to management would be stronger lights or additional ceiling lights in the rooms, and the ability to close the curtain all the way on the windows to create a total blackout experience when ready for bed. Overall, I'm grateful and highly enjoyed my stay! 10/10 definitely would recommend to family and friends, and would stay again! Best hotel in Palm...
