Update. We were asked to email the company that handles the PR.We took the time and wrote what the problem was. Never heard from the. We laughed because we heard La Bron James and Broney never showed up. We are in the area again so we will go enjoy a superb dinner at John Henry's and be appreciated..... Mastros of Palm Desert has the worst management. Ruined our special evening. The manager came over and told us we were being moved. Not during our cocktails. Not during the bottle of wine or the appetizers of crabcakes, shrimp cocktail French onion soup and bread basket. She comes over and tells us they were going to use that alcove for a group coming in and we had to be moved. Obviously for someone more important than us. So 1/3 of the way thru the wagyu tomahawk steak, filets, ribeye and sides, she says we have to be moved. So staff come pick up everything on our table march us thru a crowded restaurant with other dinners looking at us. We did nothing wrong and protested. It was embarrassing. We had driven 6 hours that day and after sitting my husbands legs were frozen up. I helped him with his 2 canes get to the new table. Now the food was cold. The waiter Lance said he tried to tell the manager that was not right. The fat on my ribeye was now congealed. The whole atmosphere was deflated. We started out laughing and taking pictures of the family. When we moved there are no more pictures. No more joy. It was a BIG deal for our daughter and her husband to drive in from LA take their parents out to a special dinner for Dad’s birthday. I got a Charlie horse in my leg from trying rapidly slide my husband chair in to not be standing where everyone was looking at us. I could not sit or stand. It was painful. We asked for tonic water to relieve the cramp. We were finishing our wine and ordered desert. Our daughter loves their butter cake. 1 hour after we were moved, no one was seated in the alcove. We could have finished our steaks while they were hot. Maybe the appropriate thing would have been to say “when you are ready for desert we would like to move you to the next room over and bring complimentary birthday desert. Oct 4th 2024 8PM. The manager never came back and checked on us. She had never said I’m sorry I need to move you. The chefs were excellent. Enjoyed the food while it was hot. The atmosphere was upbeat. The prices are ridiculous. Only go there if you think you are important enough to be treated like your thousand dollars is as important some big shots.

Came in for a bachelorette dinner for 10 people. Everything was going smoothly until it was time to pack up the food and the runner (or whoever they sent to box the food) boxed it up and put it in bags on its side!! Peoples food were spilling out into the bag. We, as foodies, have dined in all types of restaurants and never have we had our boxed turned sideways to fit into a small bag. If they were out they could have given us the option to hold it. It looked like dog food all mixed and mushed together. He claimed they were out of branded bags. Then he walked away. Shortly after one of our guests went to stand up to go use the bathroom and bumped into the tray of dirty plates that the guy LEFT DIRECTLY BEHIND HER CHAIR. The plates all shattered and the same guy turned around from across the room and screamed “OH MY GOD” while throwing up his hands. As if it was her fault she bumped into the tray that was BEHIND HER AFTER WE ALL HAD OUR TO GO BOXES. Then one of our guests told him that was rude to blame her and he said with an attitude “well where was I supposed to put it??”. At that point we asked for our dessert to go and for the bill. What do you know, the dessert comes IN LARGE MASTRO BRANDED BAGS that could’ve fit our food properly. The bride then asked to speak to the manager. Once he came over he proceeded to ask “… is that not how you wanted your food boxed?” As if we wanted dog food after spending $1500! The audacity!! Definitely ruined not only our experience but the brides bachelorette party. Never will we dine there again! Nor will I recommend anyone to try it.

One hour and a half for food to come out. Probably the worst steak that I ever had at a high end steak house.Ate two bites and got rid of rest . Out of the other six steaks served, only one said the 6 oz filet was good. The other five were considered terrible.(Have had better steaks at sizzlers) The dinner and drink bill was 980$ . We should have been comped our dinner. The excuse they gave us for the 1.5 hours it took to get our food after ordering it was on the way out of kitchen they had a collision and all plates fell to ground. I had the steak lobster combo and the lobster was good even though it seemed that it had been cooked twice. Seems like first time cooked and then reused and recooked after dropping plate. The reason I say this is because of edges of tail were crisp like had been cooked twice not like normal consistency that I have had there before. I had always had people rave about this steak house but this was most certainly not the case this go around. The two things that were acceptable for my birthday dinner was the lobster tail and desert.I was looking so forward to my birthday celebration at Matros but it turned out a flop, because of bad steaks. Please reconsider a birthday celebration with 8 people. Its a possibility that it could flop like mine did. I feel like the partys of 2 to 4 persons were being served in a timely manner and from talking to people they considered their steaks to be cooked properly. ⁹

Mastro’s

We dinned at mastros in indian wells on 1/26, party of three 7pm reservation.. .We ordered a bottle of wine which took longer than typical to arrive. Waiter finally came back to take our order. Onion soup and 1/2 wedge salad came out. The salad was finly chopped, served on a small bread plate with no dressing or bacon. Waiter never came back to check on our table so had to flag down a bus boy to ask for dressing and bacon. Took a long time but finally got dressing no bacon. We waited for dinner to arrive all the time wondering why to two tables seated long after us received their meals? Our Meals Finally arrive, one filet ordered medium was served very raw as if it hadn’t touched any flame , the scalloped potatoes had no taste and were gritty like flour was not mixed. In all the way . The second 1/2 wedge salad was better, served in a bowl( not a small plate) with bacon but with no dressing. Still the waiter never asked us how things were. Other servers brought the food not the waiter. He never checked on anything. We asked someone else’s waiter to find our waiter. Our Waiter finally came and we told him the steak was way under cooked. He took one of our forks then stabbed the steak grabbed a bread plate from our table and put the stabbed steak in it and left. No apology or comment. Before that happened we also told him the wedge salad again had no dressing, he challenged the comment and made us prove and show him there was no dressing. Again no apology. At that time we told him the first salad was horrible, it was finally chopped( not a wedge) no bacon or dressing. He left the table. No apologies . As we waited, we had no water and our wine glasses were empty. We tried to flag a bus boy down again. The first one walked past and gave Betsy a slap on the hand she was holding up to flag him and kept walking - as if we were giving him a high five- very unprofessional. finally we got a bus boy to stop and we requested water and another bottle of wine. Waiter came back 15 minutes later with again an undercooked Steak. It was charred on the outside and still raw inside and wine still had not arrived. We ended up sharing the other persons filet we had ordered that was cooked right. Our Waiter finally came with the bottle of wine 20 minutes after asked for it and we told him don’t open, we are done with our meals. he seemed annoyed with us. Again no apologies. He asked about the under cooked steak, we told him it still was not cooked properly, he said he could take it back again and we said no, too late we are done. We noticed other tables who had arrived after us had already eaten paid and left and we were still waiting. We then asked to speak to the manager. Stephanie the manager came to the table, we explained our experience and disappointments. She offered to take the items off our bill acted all concern and wanted to buy us a cocktail for our troubles but we were done eating , so we said no thank you. She then suggested dessert raving about their “world famous butter cake” and a piece of chocolate flourless cake. We said fine, we will try those and she said great I’ll get those over to you right away. We waited another 15 minutes no cakes. We asked waiter for our check and after we paid, still no cakes. Again no apologies. We waited a little longer and finally left disgusted. We heard such great things about Meastro’s and were looking forward to dining there while in Palm Desert since 2 of us had never been to a Mastro’s however, ended up being a complete...

NOT the Mastro's that it used to be. They totally ruined our night; Will NEVER EVER go back again... We had a reservation for sort of a special occasion for a table in the Bar/Main Room for 8pm on a Friday night (last night). At 7:36pm when we were on our way, we received a Text message saying our table is ready and to report to the Front Desk. We rushed to the restaurant, and reported to the Front Desk at 7:51pm. But were told our table is not ready yet!! They said that Text Message was just an automated message they send to everyone and means nothing!

Long story short, after multiple follow-ups, they finally gave us a table past 8:37 pm. In total we waited for more than 45 minutes.. And finally got a table more than 1 Hour after they sent us a message saying our table is ready! They kept saying other guests are staying too long at their tables and so that is their fault!!.. What the heck does "Management" mean afterall at this place?! Seemingly there was no manager (or any who would know how to 'Manage'..)

At some point during our 45 minute wait, we briefly sat at the bar based on the suggestion of the Security Guard there, who saw how miserably we were waiting for so long! Front desk staff never even brought up the option to sit at the bar till our table gets ready...

Eventually they gave us a jammed table on the way of servers (my purse fell twice because of servers hitting it on their way). They asked us to pay for our 2 drinks at the Bar, before moving to our table (like, they couldn't even transfer our drinks at the bar, to our main bill?!?) Nobody offered to carry our drinks for us to our table. And of course nobody even offered to put our drinks on the House (only 1 beer and 1 glass of wine), cuz they kept us waiting for so long.

Even worse, since we sat at our table, server NEVER asked us if we wanted any drinks!! They just got our food order at the beginning and totally disappeared until we finished our food and they came to take the dishes.. I repeat; during the whole course of our dinner, no server ever asked us if we needed any drinks.. They are clearly short-staffed too.

The food quality was not good either; the Medium Steak was literaly 'Raw' rather than Medium. The French Onion soup literally tasted horribly. Crab cake was too salty and spicy; which is never a good sign when it comes to seafood... French Fries were tasteless. Presentation not good. Even the crowd at the restaurant are not the same as before anymore.. I guess everybody else has also felt what we felt last night there.

Overall the whole experience was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING and DISASTROUS; it totally ruined our special night. My friend still gave the server a good tip because he is just too nice and polite (and thought we shouldn't penalize the waitress for all that mess). But we both agreed that we will NEVER EVER go back to Mastro's again. I suggest you also save your Time and Energy and Nerves and Money, and pick another nice restaurant on El...

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I had a reservation at 6:00 p.m., upon arriving I was greeted and sat in a very timely manner. The table was set very elegantly, and the atmosphere was that of what one might expect an elegant steakhouse would be. Within a matter of minutes I was greeted by my server Jessica, who was very upbeat and friendly, well versed on the menu, and more than inviting. I ordered the A5 wagyu Japanese, cooked black and blue, as well I ordered the asparagus, the mushrooms, and garlic mashed potatoes. I did have a cocktail as well, the chocolate salted caramel martini which was very flavorful and more than sufficient as a cocktail. There was about as long of a wait for the food to be delivered as one might expect, I would say no more than the time it took to cook all the dishes. The steak was placed in front of me, which looked cooked to perfection, the side dishes were then displayed for my approval and then dished for me onto the plate. I can say it was the greatest steak I have enjoyed ever, cooked perfectly. The side dishes were not only fresh, vibrant, they were also a perfect compliment to the stake. The asparagus and mushrooms, tasted as if they were just taken from Farm to Table, with both cooked to the point of being tender yet still had a very slight crunch one might say. The garlic mashed potatoes we're seasoned with just the right amount of garlic, and whipped to a creamy yet palatable texture, again it complement to the steak as if they were born to be together. Throughout my enjoyment of the meal, Jessica was more than attentive to any needs I may have had, be it another cocktail, a Refresh on my glass of water, or just to make sure everything was to my liking. For dessert I had the cheesecake, which arrived again not only promptly, but a portion more than sufficient for one person. On the plate with the cheesecake there were an assortment of fresh berries, again with that Farm to Table taste. An exquisite experience, meal, and customer service. As well the gentleman who was providing table service was very friendly and courteous. Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the gentleman providing the table service but I must say his customer service was on point and stellar which complimented the service Jessica was providing and did provide. I can say if you are ever in the Coachella valley, near El Paseo, it is a must to visit this establishment as you will not be disappointed. Be advised there is a dress code, but it is to be expected for the High Caliber establishment it is. I will definitely you returning, and recommending this establishment to any and all I encounter. Thank you Jessica, and the other gentleman for providing such great service, and my compliments to the chef for an exquisite meal. 10...
