A place to enjoy great authentic Puerto Rican's food with excellent service. Rich flavors and well seasoned Entrees for three, including drinks and dessert for one that couldn't pass on the Tembleque, (me) at the great price of $49, not including a well deserved tip.
Relax and friendly atmosphere on a Saturday at 6pm. My brother residing in Argentina and I enjoy a pleasant conversation filled with memories of Puerto Rico with our friend Carmencita Rivera from Morovis, while eating our favorite food.
As we traveled we always look for Puerto Rican Food Restaurants where ever we visit. As born and raised in Puerto Rico we never stop enjoying our Unique flavor and we know what to look for and how, it, should taste.
We have to say. THIS IS IT.
La Cosinita, you got it right...
Great way to start Christmas with our friend. It felt like a family dinner. As we were leaving we were feeling really happy of the time we had and wished everybody... Una Feliz Navidad. (Merry Christmas). It was amazing the amount of Christmas greetings and wishes of Joy, Health and Happiness that we got back.
Never miss the opportunity to wish Feliz Navidad to a Puerto Rican but be careful, ...you will start a celebration that will never end. They just need an excuse...
Now I got home filled with memories and I remember how great was to always enjoy those flavors in the dishes. my mother prepared during Christmas Season in Puerto Rico.
Her goal was to provide us with a season filled with love and happiness. Lttle by little she saved money from her low salary and created the most amazing Christmas Season each year. This hard working single mother of five bought food, clothes, decorations and Christmas tree and gave a present to each one of us every year. But the most important thing for her, was to create authentic dishes with great flavors for us.
I remember us kids always walking in and out of the kitchen while she was cooking the Arroz con Dulce y Arroz con Gandures just to get the smell of the Pernil from the oven or maybe if we ask she gave us a piece of Cuerito (crunchy pok skin). Most of the time we just got a slap on the hand if we touch the oven.
I remember how we all get nice and well dress and you all beautiful playing the guiro as we all sing christmas songs.
What I remember the most, is her face every time she did something for us. It was filled of the happiness of an acomplished woman. To provide the best for her kids to help their success and work hard to achieve it.
So she did it .....Praise the Lord for her.
To my hero my mother, Julia Erazo
In the first year of your departure, I was blessed to remember how great you were to me and all your sacrifices and love.

Read moreVery disappointing! I have been to this restaurant twice with my family and I will never go again. I never like to write negative reviews but I just had to let people know about this horrible service. The first time we went we arrived an hour before closing time because we just happened to see the sign and since there are not many Puerto Rican cuisine restaurants around we wanted to check it out. We were greeted very poorly by a waiter who seemed like she just wanted to go home. She told that they were closing in an HOUR as if to tell us to leave. Needless to say after that here service just got worse. Most of what we wanted to order was not available so we had to order out of the few things on the menu that were available. It seemed like they just didn't want to go to the trouble of making the food. We went again recently thinking that it was just a bad waiter that day and we would give it another chance since I am from Puerto Rico and I really was craving some of our food. We walked in and again we were treated HORRIBLY by a different waiter (with red hair). She did not even say hello, she was rude and dismissive. We ordered some of my favorite appetizers and when they arrived they were beyond cold. It seemed like they were just sitting out in the counter. The menu had changed since the last time and when the rest of the food arrived it was not what we were expecting. Not good at all!! I guess that must be why they are always empty! They were playing christian music in the restaurant , I guess they really need to start listening more to the lyrics and start treating their customers with a little more respect. Our waiter even argued with us about the fact that we ordered two appetizers and she brought us one, she argued that we had only ordered one and she just kept on arguing. We refused to keep arguing with crazy! Then she kept coming for the check, my husband had not signed it yet and she just kept coming back and asking. It was just the worst experience ever! Would not recommend and will never go again. Everyone should go the El Coqui restaurant on Jog and 10th , the people treat you nice and food is TRULY authentic Puerto...
Read moreCon tantas ganas que tenia para comer de aqui, pero, En toda mi vida nunca me sentido tan despreciada. On 08/03/18 approx 6:45 p.m., I called to inquire about the mofongo. My mom cannot bite into anything too crunchy, and she likes the mofongo plain with lots of ajo, drenched in caldo, to soften it up, and some pollo as a side so there is no surprises when she takes a bite. I was told outright by the woman that answered the call that they cannot place the order as I like it, I have to order it as it is. PUNTO! Wait a minute, I thought I was calling a restaurant that is in the business to serve their patrons. Ok. Thank you for your time, end of call. I strongly suggest that management monitor calls, because the way I was spoken to was as if I was asking for too much and my patronage was not important enough to better serve a 72 year old woman. Had I walked in with my mother in a wheelchair would we have been treated the same, I wonder? Ta'bien, I'll take my business elsewhere. Thank you for alienating the old Boricuas. My mom said: "Que dios los bendiga y los favorescan, y que le todo poderoso le alumbra cada paso en el camino correcto. Amen." And she means it wholeheartedly. She's not mad, just disappointed. I'm the one that's mad because I genuinely enjoy your food. But, tonight's service is truly disappointing. I called another place, not going to mention where, and they gladly agreed to prepare as ordered. Now, that is service, and they have my money... and word of mouth. BTW, your business name is misspelled, it should be La Cocinita Latina... SMH Two "c"'s no "s" in this word. Huge oversight,...
