I am a first generation Peruvian American and grew up in NYC. NYC is known for its dining and I have been able to enjoy top-notch Peruvian cuisine. Peruvian Fuego rates with its East Coast counterparts. Itâs not pretentious but it is very cozy, whether you eat in or out in front.
I went in a small group and ordered the Yucca Fries for the table and it was a hit! Three kinds of dipping sauces and each one was delicious. No one could choose a favorite. The menu is filled with delicious choices and the meals served are presented beautifully and better than the pics. The aromas of seasonings and meatâs coming from the kitchen wets your appetite and your more than ready to eat.
The Chaufa options are all amazing; chaufa is Chinese fried rice with Peruvian seasonings. You canât go wrong. Tallarines are pasta dishes and we had Tallarine Verdes. They serve it with either Steak or Rotisserie Chicken paired with linguine noodles covered with a Basil-Spinach-Parmesan-Cream sauce ⌠aromatic and loaded with flavors. I took home some Fish Ceviche and Chaufa but when I found out they had Tamales, I had to add some to my takeout order.
I ate well for the rest of the week and returned to Peruvian Fuego 2 weeks later for more Tamales. I plan on eating in again and will treat myself to some Lucuma ice cream, YUM!
If you want to give it a try, come before 6 PM. It fills fast and in my opinion, they need more servers. They do well for the number of orders and people that show up to eat in or take out. In the end,...

Tucked away with unassuming charm, Peruvian Fuego is a culinary gem that delivers bold flavors, warm hospitality, and unforgettable moments.
From the moment you walk in, the aroma pulls you straight to the counterâbut let me start with the standout: the empanada. Flaky, golden, perfectly seasonedâit's to die for. Each bite is a savory explosion that balances richness with a delicate crust. Itâs reason enough to come back again and again.
Then thereâs the chickenâjuicy, tender, and marinated to perfection with Peruvian spices that linger just long enough to keep you craving more. Itâs comfort food with a vibrant twist.
But what truly makes Peruvian Fuego shine is the people. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making you feel more like a guest at their table than a customer. And the owner? Incredible. I visited to celebrate Bazilâs 75th birthday today, May 1, and not only did the owner stop by personally to offer his well wishes, but he also surprised Bazil with a complimentary Peruvian flanâsmooth, sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal.
Itâs not just about food here. Itâs about connection, culture, and care. Peruvian Fuego isn't just a restaurantâitâs an experience youâll want to return to.
5 stars. Go for the empanada. Stay for the...
Read moreWow, top notch, super authentic Peruvian. We started with traditional pisco sours--something most places in the US make too weak or too sweet, but these were on the mark. We ordered a ceviche mixto that was fresh, flavorful, and a good size. The anticuchos were tender with blackened crunchy bits, clearly cooked over flame, and were accompanied by roasted potato and a fantastic sauce. The pan con chicharrón was delightful--they used a fresh, delicate bread roll, the chicharrón was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and the whole thing was perfectly balanced by roasted sweet potato and pickled onions. Every little detail in our meal was excellent--down to the cancha and the rocoto sauce, which was spicy and delicious. If I had to make one suggestion it would be to reduce how acidic the leche de tigre in the ceviche was. But I would highly recommend this place! The owners truly care about quality, details, and authenticity--we can't wait...
