I had the shrimp regular burrito. The shrimp was plump and juicy, but the accompanying rice, beans, and bell peppers felt pretty ordinary. The burrito was screaming for salsa, but was quickly remedied with the delicious verde salsa. Overall, the combination was quite tasty. This Sancho's doesn't quite match up to the Mexican food in SF, or it's original redwood city location, but is a solid local option.

Good flavors, and they don't skimp on quality or quantity. Carnitas was just the right tenderness. Chicken was a pass. Hot sauce is not hot - I guess you need to get extra hot if you really want something spicy. Counter staff guy might need no polish up his personality a bit. He may not be clear on some hospitality ground rules. Nice that they have shady patios both in front and back of the restaurant.

Outside of the very generous portions, the food is no memorable at all. I ordered a combo plate of Chile relleno and green enchilada with grilled chicken. The chicken in the enchilada was seasoned and cooked very well but was outweighed by the lackluster everything else. Price for food quantity is good, but based on this one dish, would not order again.

The food is good but on the expensive side, and they only take cash or checks, which many will find inconvenient. I know I did. I'd been referred to the restaurant by an acquaintance, so I decided to try it. Not having any idea of what I'd find, I went in, got in line to order, made my way to the register, and placed my order. The cashier tells me my total, and I hand her my card because I didn't see a machine for me to do it myself. For a good reason. I learned it the moment she said: "Cash only," and then pointed to a sign that, as the saying goes, would've bitten me had it been a snake. Of course, I can't have been the only unprepared person to enter because there's an ATM machine to your left at the register. However, the machine charges an almost-$3.00 fee to use it, so be forewarned: Bring cash!

One other thing: I was getting my food to go, and I didn't have to wait too long. Maybe five, no more than ten, minutes. However, though they have seating out front and, I think, in the back outside, there are few tables inside. Maybe two and then counter seating along the walls. It's one if those narrow sort of hole-in-the-wall-type places, which generally always have good food but inferior seating options (because they're so small). It would be a good place to eat at if you're alone or only have two in your party. I wouldn't want to chance being able to find a table for a party over two, especially around lunch as I'm certain they get busy and quickly packed. My advice: Get your food to go if you'll have more than two people.

About the food: The person who tipped me off to this place had a shrimp burrito that he let me try. It was good and filling. The day I went to get takeout, I ordered the ground-beef nachos and a fish taco for myself and a bean-and-cheese burrito with a cheese quesadilla for my grandma. Everything we had was good. We were unable to finish it all, so there were leftovers for the next day. (Because of this, getting two meals out of it, the prices aren't really all that high in the long run.) A note about the nachos: REAL cheese, NOT a cheese sauce, is used, which I like best, but some may expect their chips to be covered in gooey sauce (à la Taco Bell). Not the case here. But I don't think you'll be disappointed. I wasn't.

Moral of the story: You'll like the food (because it IS good) but may not enjoy the prices...and ESPECIALLY not if you forget to bring cash and are charged an additional $3 on top of your...

Since when was it ok for a restaurant to argue with a customer about allergies? I understand everyone makes mistakes but if a customer says their allergic to dairy and they find cheese or sour cream in their food, why would you argue with the customer and say there's no cheese?

Is it really worth causing ur customer to have an allergic reaction? I felt straight embarrassed at this place trying to communicate that my wife found cheese in her taco and that the cross-contamination from it would cause her to get extremely sick. The server didn't believe me and the guy at the register didn't believe me after I pointed out the white stuff (and tasted the cheese myself...I'm not allergic btw).

On top of that I felt bad for holding up the line of people who were waiting to order. Even the person I cutted in line was like "Don't feel bad. I'm personally allergic to nuts so I totally understand what ur doing."

The whole experience was just exhausting. Service is just as important as food. I hope this review helps communicate that. I'm not saying don't come here (the food is alright), I just want to warn everyone who has allergies to be extra careful...

The absolute best Baja style fried fish tacos in the area. The portion is large ( 1 is enough for me ) and perfectly prepared. Crispy on the outside, moist and tender cubed snapper inside. Shredded cabbage, a great crema and some pico de Gallo on top, all in a soft flour tortilla with a lime quarter for squeezing. I've been coming here and on Lytton since they relocated from EPA years ago and the consistency in the preparation of their food is excellent. Have had other menu items as well, equally as good, but the fish tacos are my go to order. It's cash or check. No credit cards. No problem. Line can be long at lunchtime, but they crank out the food pretty quickly and the staff is friendly and efficient. If you like fish tacos, you'll...
