Oh Boy Pizza — Restaurant in Palos Township

I happened to stumble on the fact it had new owners, so definitely had to come back and try! The woman on the phone was insanely nice, pizza only took a half hour on half priced Tuesday. When I got there I saw them using either par baked crust or crust that was sitting out for a while for another order. It was paper thin. When I got back home I tried a piece and my crust was the same paper thin, was pretty much a stale cracker, hard to bite into, very hard to chew. That's NOT how I remember oh boy. I looked through the photo reviews and the crust in those photos is not what mine was like. It was terrible. The rest of the pizza is just how I remembered. I'll try one more time not on a half price day and see if that makes a difference?

UPDATE::: The manager reached out to me. Super nice man. I ordered a pizza on a saturday night, crust was SO much better, pizza took about a half hour. Super hot Super fresh, just like it used to be.

If you think Aurelio's pizza isn't quite sweet enough, then Oh Boy pizza is for you. I'm not a fan of sweet sauce, but I know there are people who like it. Pizza also is super greasy and oversauced with that super sweet sauce and relatively unseasoned and flavorless compared to most other pizza places.

It's a perfect caricature of Chicago tavern style pizza.

I don't know what the giant pizza puff they offer is trying to be though, it is a huge amount of thick sweet fried dough with a small amount of overly sweet filling. Go get a iltaco pizza puff from Windy City just north on harlem with that savory flaky crust and super meaty inside and Oh Boy's is again a caricature of excess in all the wrong ways.

I don't understand the hype of all the positive reviews, and two half price days a week definitely changes the value proposition. You may like their pizza, but it's quite an outlier from almost any other pizza...

Based on the OWNER, their pizza will leave you with a BAD TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH! PLEASE go somewhere else for your pizza! You will definitely get better service and a better chance of getting your order correct! We ordered a "party" size pizza, 1/2 sausage. When we came home from picking up the pizza, the entire pizza was sausage. We called to let them know and were told to come back in and they will give us a large cheese pizza. So once again made the 4 mile trip to pick up another pizza. When we got home and opened this one, it was a medium cheese instead of a large as we were promised. A call to the owner to let him know what happened turned into a customers worse nightmare! His response was it's half price pizza night, what else do you want!
