Olympia Bakery — Restaurant in Palos Township

This is the worst experience ever!! It is my last time ordering a Birthday cake from this place. Last time I had to wait 20mins until they found my cake. This time was even worst. I ordered a cake for 9.30 am , came to pick it up at 12 pm and it still wasn't ready. The cake wasn't decorated.  It looks like the woman who I talked about decorating the cake didn't leave the message to the other co-workers. The Birthday party was suppose to start at 1pm and they told me to come back in an hour becuase they had to decorate it. Unbelievable. The place is a total mess and very irresponsible. I lost 1 hour waiting. My hour is worth min $100,  so I lost it  waiting there aimlessly. If you need a  cake for a special occasion Just stay away from this bakery and order somewhere else!!! On the top of everything everybody was ruth instead of saying sorry and apologize for the situations they gave me attitude answering the simple question How much longer I have to wait? It's very sad what's going on with Businesses. Well this place won't get my Business anymore. And you should think twice too, If you don't want to stay without the cake for your child's Birthday or any other important occasion. Since now I will drive 10mins extra to Weber bakery or...

An independent grocery store in the town north of ours sells Olympia Bakery bread. We started buying it 6 months ago. It's hands down the best bread I've had in many years. Back when Richie LaBriola still had his huge bakery we ate his bread exclusively. He sold it and is doing other things now. Finding Olympia bread at this grocery store was just such a great surprise. It's always super fresh, has a lovely crust, and those great homemade "bready" aromas. I will never eat the stuff the huge chain grocery stores sell again. I'm anxious to try other Olympia Bakery items soon. A trip down to Hickory Hills may be in order. This morning at 6, I threw two slices of the Rye into the toaster. I put some butter and honey on the warm toast and it was as good as any homemade bread I've ever eaten. A nice cup of coffee with my Olympia Rye toast and the day starts the way it should. Thanks to the team at Olympia for putting out such an incredible old school product. Worth every penny and if I must, I'll drive way out of my way to buy it. Highly...

This bakery has fabulous food. The service is terrible. Not enough help at the counter. I stood in line for 10 minutes. One person was ahead of me. She was complaining of the service. People would enter the store, go up to the counter, start speaking polish and would be waited on at the spot. There were six more people behind me. There were two older women waiting on customers. One went in the back and totally disappeared. Finally the woman ahead of me was waited on. She purchased quite a bit . That took 5 minutes. Meanwhile the lady that disappeared in the back decided to return and help a gentleman that just walked in the door. How rude!! Older man behind me was in a walker. He was not happy.
