Silver Fox Pastries — Restaurant in Palos Township

I originally bought a piece of Lemon/Lemon Icing Cake and Pound Cake from Sharks on 95th and Jeffrey and the cake was so good I decided to call Silver Fox Bakery and order 3 whole pound cakes 2 Plain and 1 Lemon...I didn't know if they would be as good as the individual slices...but I went out on a limb and called and placed a order for 3 whole cakes on yesterday 12/20/23 for my Mom's 70th Birthday gathering.....they came right out of the oven PIPING HOT AND SMELLING MY WHOLE CAR UP WITH BAKED GOODNESS.....when I tell you that we had about 35 to 40 guests who asked me where I got the cake from...and even the older women in my family said that it tasted like a Black Grandma's pound cake!!! Now that's respect no shade...I had to leave this review because I couldn't let it be said that they were horrible as the other reviews stated...because I would've missed out on some of the best cake I've tasted in YEARS!!!!! they've just added a NEW...

I purchased a slice of lemon cake, and a slice of German chocolate. I am very disappointed with the lack of icing on both. The German chocolate which is my favorite, was a little dry, and the icing was lacking throughout the layers. I had over half of the cake left that’s garbage. Maybe you could add Mayo for moisture in your batter. The lemon cake needs more lemon flavor to go with that vibrant yellow color.
