Normally one of my favorite places, but very saddened and disappointed by the aggressive and hurtful behavior of one of the staff members. After waiting for 45 minutes for our order, the food finally came out stone cold and the 1 meal incorrect. They said they were "backed up," but apparently not true because of the fact that out meal had been cooked, but cold. They clearly had forgotten to bring out the order. When I asked about ot 45 minutes later, it came immediately- proof that it was there, just forgotten. I am usually delighted by this place, but after the following mistreatment, i had to share how upsetting this was- after 3 attempts of them either miscommunicating or misunderstanding the order, i asked for a refund because it had by now been an hour and the ppl sitting all around us had already been served/eating /or finished. When I asked if we could get a gift card or some courtesy, they said no. But could offer a dessert (i don't eat sugar, so no thx) so i got a full refund, but meanwhile outside, my aunt had received her food and started nibbling on it. The server came out very indignant & said she had to take the 1 correctly made meal away and was clearly upset, like we were trying to get "something for free." I told her we were there for an hour already, and i had been waiting 45 minutes when I previously got up to find out what the delay was. She asserted that I hadn't waited that long, claiming the food was brought out after 30 minutes. I told her to keep it real and please don't lie. She actually accused me of lying and aggressively started throwing the plates and dishes in the cleanup container. I was so shocked I almost thought she was going to get violent with me and raised her voice at us, while other guests were turning and looking because she looked like she wanted to start a physical altercation with me. The irony is I've been happily going there for years, and even friendly (had previously given my personal phone number to the manager.) I was so shocked at her unprofessional and aggressive behavior to me and my elder aunt. I.will no way go back to such a humiliating poor way of treating customers in PVE. Just horrible.I felt abused- lesson learned: Don't ask yellow vase for substitutions! They can not handle a change...
Read moreIn terms of vibes, ambience, and location this has to be one of my favorite brunch spots in all of Los Angeles. I have had better food at other breakfast spots but the scenery here is hard to beat and we honestly had a wonderful Sunday brunch. There are three locations scattered around RPV, this being the most northern and prettiest location. It is located in the back corner of a shopping center tucked away in its own spot underneath a giant tree. They do have indoor seating, but most people choose to sit outside under the tree and in the sun, which is what we did and it was a wonderful experience. You order at the counter inside and then they give you a number and then bring the food to you, itâs not a full-service restaurant. Parking is plentiful because they have a large free parking lot attached that is never full.
They have a lot of great drinks, pastries, and breakfast items. The portion sizes here are not very large compared to other breakfast spots around town, especially the diners, but they have great flavors and fair pricing. The staff was very polite and all of our items arrived quickly. For this most recent visit I ordered the Eggs Benedict with ham which I thought was good, although the eggs were overdone so they werenât runny at all. Also the side salad was very small and lacked any real flavor. We also ordered a bunch of different pastries and honestly, each one was great. My favorite was probably the strawberry and cheese.
Overall one of the best scenery brunch places you can go to in LA and would be a great place to bring someone visiting town. I would recommend and I plan to be back in the...
Read moreMy friend needed to use the restroom last Saturday so we ordered a golden latte 10 minutes before they were closing. There were two people in front of me and one person behind me. I ordered my drink in Spanish since the employees(including the woman taking the orders) were speaking Spanish and when I ordered one golden latte with oat milk, the woman taking the order sighed as if it were a burden to make and told the other employee to shut the front doors(in spanish)...I immediately felt guilty for even ordering that one drink. I work in the service industry at a restaraunt as well and when people walk in 10 minutes before we close, I proudly serve them, without a sigh and without an attitude. I go out of my way to make every customer comfortable even having to wait an extra hour for them after closing. It's just a part of being in the industry and out of our control. I noticed she was nicer to the person behind me and even thanked him when she made me feel like a burden and didn't "thank me" in comparison...I was left confused. Anyways, the latte took 3 minutes to get out & they said it was the golden latte with almond milk(instead of oat) but we didn't mind! By the time we left the cafe it was 3:55 PM, 5 minutes before they closed and my friend said her golden latte was really good. :) I get that people have their bad days and being in the service industry can be overwhelming. Unfortunately, that experience really turned me off so I don't think I will be coming back to...
