Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Panama City

Ate here last night with my husband. 9 booths were open and clean . The hostess tried to sit us at the bar ( we were not planning on drinking ) , so we kindly asked for a booth . This was met with an attitude and a, " I'll have to check on that for you." The hostess disappeared to the kitchen and came back about a few minutes later ... She informed us that would be fine and sat us at one of the 9 empty booths . The place wasn't even that busy but we waited 15 minutes for a server to get us two sweet teas . When the server returned with the teas, they were unsweetened . We had to stop the server and request sweet teas, again . This took another 10 minutes and the teas were barely sweet .We were ready at that point to order our meals . It took another 30 minutes for a Swiss Burger and an 8oz Steak . The burger was cooked to order but the Steak was supposed to be Medium Rare , came curled up and was so overcooked it looked and cut like Beef Jerky, complete with the outside edges Blackened. I couldn't even cut it up , let alone chew it . I stopped our server as he walked by , again , and told him that I would like for my meal ( Steak ) to be refunded as I cannot eat it .The server offered to have it remade but at this point I didn't have time , as I had work early this morning and it was already pushing 8pm .He said he would get a manager to come talk to me . We waited another 10 minutes and the server came back to our table to let us know that our whole meal was being zeroed out ... I was astonished and said that was really nice but that I would leave him a tip . I was even more astonished when the server returned 15 minutes later with a bill for most of our food ... Minus my Steak and a water I never even ordered. I didn't mind paying for my husband's meal or our appetizer but was told otherwise. Never will I ever be going back there . Not because I had to pay but because the service is terrible , long wait times when they're not even packed , for the attitude we got for asking for a booth , the fact that everything went wrong from the moment we walked in that door. So I’ve been holding off to leave one of these , one because I don’t typically leave a reviews & two I keeping thinking it will get better … but it hasn’t , only worse !! So unfortunately my kids love hot wings & they want them from Applebees so tonight for example I ordered the 2 for 25 got wings & a steak w/ shrimp & parmesan & Bourbon chicken & a separate order of wings & 2 sides of fry’s . So I order it & it says it will be ready at 8:10pm & I live maybe 4 mins away so around 8:05pm I clicked the button to notify I was on my way & then when I got there I pressed the button to notify I’m sitting in the car side to go parking space . (Now keep in mind the last 3 times what I’m about to tell you has happened ) so 5 mins goes by & I see employees walking around in there but no one brings the food out to me so around 8 min mark each time I see an employee I flash my lights but no response. So long story short about 20 mins went by till I went inside to pick up my food eventhough I’m pre tipping the people to bring out my food for me … I mean that’s the service !! So I go in & there employee who I’m sure was related to Napoleon Dynamite asked what I needed , as I replied my card side to go order , & he walked around to get it sitting on a table , & he brings it back & asked me were you in the truck waiting for the food ?? Like he was confused what the job is I guess . I will also add there was only 2 parties in the restaurant & not a soul at the bar . So I get the food back home & everything is cold , the steak was like rubber & really cold , kids fry’s were cold . So just over $70 down the drain … but they still got there tip !! So I don’t expect anyone to read this looking for a review on Applebees , but I do hope the owner or upper management might read this & correct it because this is not a isolated incident by...

Wow!! I loved the food but I hate that Applebee's is a family orientated place. I didn't actually expect it to be packed with huge groups of families that decided to bring newborns and toddlers who roam around and scream and cry. It's disgusting to hear and get spooked a few times because some toddler was screaming a bit. The family across from us had a huge birthday party for a little boy aad they were so loud and it was so annoying I could barely hear my boyfriend talk across from the table. It was hell of a dinner date night. We may go back someday. Maybe we need to just go to restaurants that little babies and toddlers aren't allowed or something. I love kids I do I'm not a child hater. But I know what places are actually exceptible for children and what isn't. And this catastrophe of a family shouldn't had been allowed 🙄 Other than they annoying toxic family the food was very delicious. I got the bourbon steak with mushrooms and onions and mashed potatos. It was delightful. The watermelon mana Margarita Dwayne johnson drink was just as delicious as well. My boyfriend got a bacon burger with fries and he enjoyed it tho the meat was too well done he still enjoyed it. His house Margarita was too salty so had to return to bartender to remake it. Came back a second time and he thought it was much better, and I'd like to add Jamie our waitress was very polite and nice. She was attentive and respectable. Unfortunately, you didn't have enough waitresses and some of the waitresses seemed to be scattered and out of breathe and kinda chaotic. Applebee's you do not pay your waitresses enough and you can't even hire more waitresses to help on busy nights. That's just heartbreaking and sad. Get it together Mr Applebee's.
