There is a variety of food and the employees keep the buffet clean. Paid $50 for two people and all we were able to enjoy was salad, mashed potatoes, chicken, and rolls. Definitely could have got a better quality meal from outback for the same price. The premium drinks taste like bitter syrup and the fountain drinks taste dirty. I'm guessing the filter needs changing or drink machine isn't being cleaned properly as the water taste like it came from a hot water hose. In my opinion this restaurant uses low quality cuts of meat especially when it comes to steak. When Paying a premium price for a buffet with steak there is an expectation it will be half way decent. The steak here was full of fat and white stringy things (I'm going to say it was tendons however as photographed it looks strange and unappetizing). I couldn't bring myself to eat one bite after cutting it up. The seasoning level of the food is giving hospital cafeteria food. The collard greens were very stiff, watery, and lacking flavor. I wanted to try the nachos until I seen the taco bar where the chips were stale, meat looked watery and greasy at the same time, and the bucket of sour cream was nearly empty and crusty. The dessert options are slim with most sugar free and again tasteless. The baked goods tasted like flour and sugar substitute. We were unable to find one dessert worth eating more than 1 bite. The jello tasted like cherry cough syrup. The soft serve machine appears to need maintenance as the icecream came out in the form of a thick log, was a dark yellow color, far from soft, and had a gritty texture as well as melted almost instantly turning into a thick syrup like soup. The bourbon street chicken and mashed potatoes were decent. If I go back I won't be paying for the buffet I'll just get a plate of mash potatoes and chicken and save...
Read moreI visited PCB a few weeks ago and had the extreme displeasure of eating at this restaurant for dinner. It wasn’t the food that was the problem necessarily (despite the fact it was pretty bland, although that’s unsurprising given that GC is a business model based on quantity, not quality.) It was the owner of the establishment who managed to represent the place in a rather poor light. I came into the place around 6 or 7 p.m. wearing a shirt with a curse word on it (the “F” word.) I was unaware that this was against dress code policy and still am not entirely sure it violates it. Regardless, instead of taking me aside to inform me that my shirt was against policy, he decided the best way to handle the situation in a professional manner was to immediately accost me at the front and attempt to humiliate me in front of his employees, other customers, and my family. He thought it would be an intelligent decision to make a scene and escalate everything by raising his voice and making sarcastic remarks instead of quietly addressing the circumstances. He suggested I either leave and change my shirt or go to the bathroom and turn it inside out. I chose turn it inside out, but, as I’m making my way there, he follows me and I tell him he can expect a negative review and a call to corporate. That’s when he goes berserk and threatens to kick me out and attempts to intimidate my family by asking them if they would like to eat there. Pretty disgusting way to treat your patrons, sir. Here’s your review and you can expect the call to...
Read moreMy spouse and I recently stopped at Golden Corral for an early dinner, after an eventful day. While it was not a pre-planned visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of service received at this establishment. Despite being a buffet-style restaurant, our servers were attentive and ensured that our drinks were always topped up and our used plates were promptly cleared. If the rest of the servers work at this high level, Golden Corral will be sure to make a lasting impression on their guests.
In terms of the food, we were generally pleased with the quality and variety offered. As someone who typically has lower expectations when dining at a large chain buffet, I was impressed with what Golden Corral had to offer. However, I have decided to deduct one star from my rating due to two issues. Firstly, there was an empty pan of pot roast, which was a particular disappointment for me as I had been looking forward to trying it. Secondly, the rigatoni in sauce was rather dry and had an old taste to it, making it difficult to enjoy.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Golden Corral and would recommend it to others. The exceptional service and generally good food made for a pleasant dining experience, despite the few shortcomings. We would certainly consider visiting again...
