Best bbq in town. Also the friendliest staff, been coming for about 7 mos and they have the same faces working. This tells me not only is the food great, but their staffs treated well too. Aj, kelvin. Tessa, caitlynn, and really everyone there, always have real smiles on their faces. Theyre always happy to help out with questions, or to let you sample something new. Me and my fiance eat here atleast 2x a week. Every mos. They put new things on the menu. Not that youll ever tire of the standards. I always get the smoked salmon or turkey for dinner but always atleast try whatever the new monthly item they are featuring. For lunch ill often do their pulled pork sandwhich wet. Thats with a heaping helping of their awesome coleslaw. You can also get your smoked turkey sandwhich done the same and i highly recommend you try your sandwiches wet. Their salads may come in a plastic box, but theyre as good if not better, as any salad from most fine dinning restraunts. I often get a side salad as one of my sides. Sometimes, ill do just the entree salad which is about 3x larger then a side salad, with a meat.. i usualy do turkey or chicken on top of my salads. Their dressings are out of sight and taste home made. Its always super fresh and and its obvious a lot of tlc went into preparing their salads. The entree salad w turkey cost under 8 bucks and fills me up everytime. Especially w a side of cornbread. All smoked meats are served ale cart then you get your sides. I suggest getting 2 sides because you get a free drink with your meal w 2 sides. Sometimes my fiance may just want one side and ill give her one of mine and we save a few bucks because the drinks free when you order 2 sides. With a baby due at the end of june we do what we can to save a buck. My mom and dad, where die hard sonnys, fans, untill i turned them on to the best place in town, Mission Bbq!! God bless everyone there, and all yall that support them. Everyday at noon they support our vets by playing the national anthem. Now that says a lot about the owners. If your in a hurry just come 5 minutes after noon. Even when the lines to the door, ive never waited longer then 10 or 12 minutes to get my platter. Not once has anyone there ever been rude to me, or to other customers, no matter how busy they are. Its a great place to bring the whole...
Read moreI normally don't eat at a new restaurant until it has been in business at least six months, so as to allow time for workflows to fall in place and everyone get in their groove. Mission Barbeque is an exception to that rule. With friends who wanted to try it out, we got there 15 minutes before opening time. The outside picnic tables were packed with other guests who beat us to the punch. Promptly at 11:30, the owner opened the door, and greeted each guest as they walked in single file through the entrance. The line moved pretty fast; unlike Wal-Mart, these folks had a smiling face at all three of their available registers, talking orders, giving information to first timers (like me), and answering questions. There was a young lady who gave a quick orientation to each of the various sauces while we waited as well. I ordered first in my party, got my drink (GREAT lemonade!), and sat down, only to immediately have to go back to get my food because it was ready. So was my sister's, and she got hers. The young man at the counter wouldn't let me take mine though; he said the fries weren't as hot as they could be, so he got me fresh fries (even though they'd only say there a couple minutes). This impressed me very much. All of us were very pleased with the choices we made; pulled pork sandwich for me, ribs for my sister, brisket and a meat platter, and various sides. Everything was fresh, hot, and tender, and very tasty. Overall, this restaurant is a class act for decent price. And EVERY.SINGLE.DAY at high noon EVERYONE stops and pays tribute to Old Glory during the playing of the National Anthem...This, folks, is America at...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE that this restaurant honors and respects our veterans and those currently serving. Police Officers, Firefighters EMTs along with all military have representation on the walls (photos, memorabilia, flags, etc). The staff at the restaurant also stand, salute and say the pledge of allowances everyday at 1200. You are able to purchase a reusable cup and the proceeds go to the hometown hero’s for the quarter (and if you bring the cup back, you get free refills and $1.00 off your meal).
And, the food is delicious. We have been several times and everything we have had is so fresh and tasty. We have had the 2 meat place with pulled chicken and the jalapeño cheddar sausage links. The links could be a bit more charred for extra flavor but that’s a personal preference. The pulled pork is juicy and tender. The brisket is lean and flavorful, the salmon!! I would never think of a BBQ joint serving salmon, much less it tasting good but it is so tasty.
I like to get a side of Mac and cheese and add pulled pork with some of the Baja sauce and GA mustard. (Definitely try this)! Their side salads are huge. I also recommend ordering a side salad with the pulled pork with Italian dressing and Baja sauce. So good. The Alabama sauce is a good dip for their fries! Fresh lemonade and tea! They do offer speciality drinks in the cool at the front of the line.
Staff is super friendly, respectful, welcoming and knowledgeable about their products/menu items. Great to see young staff being polite and to see management working right along side...
