Just finished an install and needed a place to eat. I pulled into Sonic and figured I would give them a try since the last Sonic I ate at in Crawfordville, Fl was BEYOND exceptional. I asked the lady if it was possible to get my tater tots made to order. The name of the lady who took my order is called Destiny. Destiny stated "All of our food is made to order." I then informed her of some of my unfortunate experiences at other Sonic Drive Ins where they did not serve food made to order. I placed my order. By the way I should also mention this woman was very rude in how she responded to my question. Around 5-7 minutes later, here comes Kerrie with my dinner. We exchanged pleasantries and she went on her way. I immediately realized something was not right when I open the bag. You see fresh tater tots have a unique smell to them. These tots did not. Nor were they even hot. They were warm and smelled like they had been cooked in foul frying oil. My hamburger wasn't even fresh!!! The patty looked like someone had taken three bites out of it before they put together the sandwich. One of the sonic employees was actually waiting on a cab to go home when I asked him to come over to my car. I pointed to my malformed hamburger patty. I asked him does this look like someone ate some of my burger??? He stated some of the patties fall apart when cooking. After he made me feel better about it I ate it. I could not even finish the tots. The tots tasted like they were fried at lunch and left under a heat lamp all day. The oil tasted terrible. My stomach is slightly upset even as I write this. Kerrie walked by my car on the way to another vehicle carrying an order with a smirk on her face. I think they did something to my food. The manager of this place should be slapped repeatedly. The service is terrible and the food is absolutely disgusting. The only reason I even ate what I ate is because it is so late and I have a 2 hour drive back home. What a terrible experience. I went through the drive through and ordered a chocolate shake. By the time I arrived to pick up the shake the shake was sitting by the window.
When the young lady gave me the shake I noticed it was already melting. I asked her to make me a new one due to it being melted and she said she just made it. I told her I was buying it for my husband, that he was getting out of surgery and would like to have a good shake.
I started to give it back to her and she said that she could not take it back due to health code violations. She said I could throw it in the garbage can on my out that she would make a new one. She left and then came back and said that her manager said she could take it and make me a new one.
While she was walking back I notice she was talking with someone (I'm assuming her manager). I looked to she if she made a new one. She turned around and walked toward the drive through window and gave me a (new shake) but this shake had a soda lid on it. I opened it up and it was still runny. All she did was dump it into a new cup & put a soda lid on it.
All while having a bad attitude. I have never left a bad review until today.
I have worked in customer service over 25 years and understand that customer service can be really hard to say the least. I also recognize that customer service is not what it used to be especially after covid. But I do not understand the total neglect of this young lady and her manager today. This could of been taken care of by simply making a new shake without all the drama.

Read moreIs better to order on the app than to order in person here. For some reason they get confused whenever you tell them the same exact order over the speaker but they have no problem reading it over the app.
I will order a Jr double cheeseburger add mayo lettuce tomato and onion. They will repeat it back to me seven different ways that seem almost incomprehensible and change the name to three different other menu items which are nothing like what I said. however when I order it on the app it comes out with no problem every single time. The confusion over the speaker is whuuuuuuu?
It should be noted that by doing this - like many other places you can basically get more food for $2.50 than you would by just ordering a regular cheeseburger. They always try to get you somehow. It's on you to be a menu hacker.
Also for some reason their menus list the fact that you need to specify if you want mayonnaise on any cheeseburger and despite me following those instructions every time and the app also specifying that you need to add mayonnaise manually to every cheeseburger on the menu every time I do this over the speaker I am told that it comes with it automatically. Please train the workers that it DOES NOT!
Small grumblings aside their staff is always very friendly, fast, and accurate for the most part especially compared to other places in town. So I would highly recommend it especially given the quality of the food and the price point. It also seems that the problem manager that they used to have a few years...
