My girlfriend and I tried this place the other day and it is SERIOUSLY a hidden gem! I got myself an almond milk matcha latte with Irish cream and agave, and she got an almond milk vanilla lavender coffee latte. For reference we both prefer oat milk, but unfortunately they had run out of stock, but even with almond milk, we loved our drinks. Iām typically not a fan of lavender in coffee but this place does something to make me like it. And the matcha, as a borderline matcha snob, I could tell is a pre-sweetened blend; however, it was surprisingly great. Overall, the coffee was a 10/10 and the matcha was an 8/10. We also shared a pecan banana bread and⦠wow. Itās fresh baked in house and I could tell with love. GET THE PECAN BANANA BREAD IF YOU GO! Atmosphere here is great too. Very cozy and homey and thereās even a guitar which I believe customers may play(?). Thereās a whole study area, not room, where there are multiple seats at a countertop. Itās nice and quiet in that area as well, so itās great for me as a college student living practically down the street from this place. The music they play is smooth and gets you in that cozy vibe too. When I went, I cannot remember the guyās name, but he was awesome. He was putting in work at this place and I could tell he loves doing what he does. Anyway, this place deserves WAY more recognition than itās currently getting; albeit, theyāve only been open a couple months from what I was told. I will be returning, I know that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a person who drinks a lot of coffee. I love to try different coffees - especially specialty coffees. I am from Florida here in Arlington to help my son move to Florida. There were 5 in our group and we did a search at my request for local coffees (my passion). Karibu Coffees Cafe came up highly rated. So we decided to drive to check it out (kind of a cool spot and setup). It was warm out 94°so we ordered ice coffee. BEST I EVER HAD!!!! Felix was very welcoming, friendly and great to talk with while he prepared everyone's order. I love that the coffee is organic and single sourced from Uganda. The coffee was absolutely excellent ššš I strongly recommend this to anyone who appreciates a great ā. We loved it so much we ordered seconds and I told Felix I wish I lived here so I could get some every day. I especially appreciate the care and pride he noticably takes in his craft and service. I was also happy to bring our business to a man who has his kids helping him operate, learn his business and include them in that passion. They treat their customers so well. I can't say enough and I pray God Blesses Felix and his family. When we return to Arlington I will be getting my coffee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried Karibu Coffees Cafe for the first time today and I was so surprised how cute it is on the inside. I barely noticed a coffee shop had opened up shop in that building that has been sitting vacant for so long.
It has a wonderful and inviting aesthetic with artwork from various artists covering some of the walls, plants, tons of different options for seating, a case for bottled drinks and another for pastries. It even has a drive thru, which I would've never known had I not decided to stop in.
There is a little "quiet" room specifically for studying, which I think was such a thoughtful idea. You can tell the owner really put his heart into his small business.
Speaking of the owner, he is the nicest guy! He is so welcoming and made me feel like a regular he's been serving for years. He also proudly roasts all of his coffee in-house. How cool is that?! The coffee is both delicious and strong!
I love supporting small business owners, especially ones like Felix, and this will be my go-to coffee spot from now on! Welcome to the neighborhood, Karibu...
