WAY OVERPRICED- spent $50 and tossed half of it.
We have been anxiously awaiting this spot to open. We went on Sunday to try them out. This is my honest feedback: -the food was the overwhelming biggest disappointment. The brisket had zero taste of being smoked, we were convinced it had been boiled or oven baked. Very basic in flavor. -the turkey did have smoke flavor but had a very odd consistency, I drowned it in sauce, had a few more bites and had to call it quits -the fried okra was almost completely void of breading -the green beans were just straight from a can- My husband ordered fries. After sitting down to wait for our order we were told they were “out” of fries. I am positive they aren’t making them homemade here so basically they didn’t want to cook them for him.
I spent $49.37. Which I DO NOT MIND doing for quality food and experience. This was not. We each got the single meat “plate”- comes with 2 sides, one of which was apparently out. our food was brought to us on the paper thin styrofoam plates, and the only option is plasticware. If I am spending $50 on a meal, a basic plate and fork seems reasonable to ask for. In addition they charged me extra for using a credit card. I left a tip that I certainly now wish I had not.
It seems they are cutting corners at every turn. We each said we would have water not knowing we would be charged $4 for bottled water- we just wanted a small cup of water. I am so extremely disappointed in the experience, the food and lack of value. I cannot recommend. We were really hoping to support this local small business but we simply cannot return here. Wish I could uneat this meal. the restaurant was a bit warm, and there were 5 beer signs- none of which were lit- making the atmosphere...
Read moreWe went on a Wednesday for the Hump day special . We arrived at 6 had to wait forever behind 1 car to finally get to the window and be told they were sold out of the brisket. They did offer to make a special out of links for us, but we also wanted a pound of brisket to take home. So we got a pound of the BBQ chicken to take home when we got home and opened our bag there was only a box with 3 boneless chicken thighs and 2 pieces of bread in it. We spent $17.00 on 3 chicken thighs not enough for 2 people, we needed to feed 4. The people were nice the food was delicious but feel completely ripped off. The drive through is very small have to be careful if you have a big car or truck.
Thank you Owner for responding the point in the reviews is to let the next person know what to expect so I wasnt faulting you for the drive through lack of space. I was just warning that it's tricky so other customers with larger vehicles may opt for the walk up option rather than risking damaging their car or your building. Also it was a disappointment to realize that $17 for 3 thighs comes out to $5.66 each which is ridiculous. When we could have gotten a sandwich, a drink and chips for $6 had we known 3 single thighs were going to be $17. We let it be known that we were new and we also let it be known that our intention was to feed 4 so its just good common decency to make suggestions to your customers to help them out in hopes that you will retain a customer and possibly gain a few more. We love to support small business. As we all know It's not what you know it's who you know. You seem like you are on the right track with a few changes your business will continue to grow...
Read moreI often drive past this place and always wondered why I hadn’t tried it so today, I finally tried it and let me tell you…. I was pretty disappointed. Driving up, it’s a cute spot. I opted to take the drive thru since I was already on the go. My husband was with me and he ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and I ordered the loaded potato with brisket. The lady at the window was nice but being our first time, she didn’t really help guide us on the menu. Like not knowing the sandwich was just the sandwich and no sides. When I ordered my potato, she asked me if I wanted everything on it and seemed to get frustrated with me when I asked what came on it. My husband asked for the spicy bbq sauce to go on the sandwich, and I had asked for mine on the side. They switched it up which ok, no big deal. My husband said his sandwich was dry. The French fries were soggy frozen French fries, nothing great about those. My potato would have been decent had it not had the bbq sauce. The bbq sauce really made me dislike their food. It was very rich imo. They also gave me a Daisy sour cream pack that had curdled sour cream in it so I used my own. I also ended up having to put another bbq sauce on it to get me through the meal. The portion size was very reasonable...
