Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very good service. They helped us to make things a bit easier. We had a table for 2. I wanted the tasting menu, which it’s 4 courses, but it’s a lot of courses so my partner wanted only 2. The tasting menu is for the table, but they let us have it separated and we agreed with the timings to bring the dishes.
The non-alcoholic drinks all sounded sweet, so we ended up ordering unsweetened ice tea, which they kept refilling. Very refreshing. But they also suggested a virgin margarita & it’d probably been a good option as well.
The bread in the sharing platter was very good (not part of the tasting menu). It comes with basil sauce, olive oil, and lemon butter, which was very good.
The rocket salad had a slightly sweet taste that goes very well with the rocket and the cheese.
The lemon spaguetti was delicious. The huge shrimp in the plate was amazing as well.
The artichokes in the salmon plate were really good, and the salmon was crispy on the outside. Very good.
The sorbets for dessert helped me a bit to settle the food. I had a peppermint tea to finish that helped feel better as well. It’s accompanied by some honey.
The only problem we had is that we couldn’t finish all the food. I felt a bit bad because I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t that full. I think the portions are not that huge, but we made a few mistakes. This is unrelated to the review, but I’ll write some advice for tourists like us coming from Europe:
Don’t get full early by eating the bread platter as a starter. Either don’t order it, or if you want to try it, just eat a few bites and save the rest for the main course. If your stomach is still OK during mains, finish it. Otherwise order it to go. No need to finish everything (in fact, I saw many people with take away boxes, so it was not only us…) If you are coming from Europe it may be a bad idea to book a table for dinner as we did because your stomach may be jet lagged and think it’s early morning. I don’t usually eat anything in the mornings, so I think my stomach just refused to take anything in. I forced the food down & it made me feel quite uncomfortable. Perhaps reserve some other time, or have just 1 or 2 courses. If you book for dinner, eat lightly during the day. I do recommend the tasting menu, but you would want to be hungry to...
Read moreWe went to Giada for a birthday celebration. There were five in our party and we had an early dinner at 5:30. The place was about half full maybe, and from a service and speed standpoint I'm sure it helped. When you make the reservation and you're deciding to pay the extra $25 for a window seat, don't worry about it because we sat at a great table and there was plenty to enjoy through the large windows.
We started out with some cocktails, and the bar menu was great as was our bartender. She made a great drink called an Italian Interlude for son who was turning 21. I had a red sangria which not only was great, but the pour was plentiful.
Hands down, dinner was phenomenal. The menu was classics with a twist plus Giada's forward thinking creations. We started out with meatballs, arrincini, and the bread tray. The meatballs were average. The arrincini was spectacular. The sprinkle of cheese they put over the top of it was magical. They charge for bread? You know,.if you're eating there just go with it, but the different breads were all great as was the assortment of condiments that came with the bread. The pesto is a must to dip into.
Now, the server we had, had his rap down. But the guy was upselling at every turn and recommending to share everything. The part which confused me was first he said the portions were big and we needed to order several and share. But then the entrees come out and we could feed a village in Italy. I think the guy needs to dial it down a bit.
The Mains: The lobster ravioli was not the one you buy at Trader Joe's. These delicate pillows arranged with the garnish was all about eating with your eyes first. The scallops were added to the dish and cooked to perfection, crusted caramelization, and a smooth flavorful texture inside
The pasta alla ruota or the pasta tossed in the cheese wheel is an experience. If you've seen it made and never had it, I can't recommend it enough. You get your own mini wheel which has generous portions of cheese left to eat. But the whole dish is really to die for... Also, this is probably enough for 2-3 people.
The birthday day boy desert from the restaurant was there tiramisu. It was creativity made with a twist which was a nice way to finish.
I would definitely eat there again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made reservations. It was a Saturday at 5:30 pm, packed entrance, but valet was great and the attendant was awesome. He even recommended some tasty apps when we asked for directions to Giada's entrance.
The restaurant is located inside The Cromwell Hotel. As we made our way through, we realized this was not a nice hotel. As we made our way to Giada's, the entrance was beautiful and classy compared to the rest of the hotel. Once escorted into the restaurant we noticed the heat. It felt like the AC was broken. We were sat next to a sunny window with the saddest drawn but we quickly began to perspire, so we asked a waitstaff if they could turn up the AC. A hostess came over shortly after and moved us to the main area where it was cooler so maybe the AC was broken after all but they did not mention anything about it.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly and was tasty. We opted to skip dessert since it was still warm in there. As we left and walked back through the casino, we saw how trashy this place was. Negative people everywhere, yelling and arguing, picking fights. Security is just watching. Thankfully our car was instantly available and valet super friendly again. We could not wait to leave this caltoc place but there wasn't alot of room with several people trying to exit. Then some idiot with fake gold chains decides to get out of his rented sports car while we're all in line to the exit and act cool in front of all the scantily clad women walking around. He literally exited his car and parked expecting us all to wait until he decided to get back in. My husband asked him to get back in his car or move it and this loser came up to our car window and threatened to punch him and walked away. This is the kind of trash that comes here. We laughed for reasons only known to us as he walked away. Luckily the valet saw this and moved some cones out of the way so cars could go around him. I told them what happened and they told him to leave now. It's safe to say we will never come back here.
Save yourself the headache and go somewhere more respectable. Totally not worth the...
